Gangsters 2 not living up to the original Gangsters: Organized Crime…

User Rating: 3.5 | Gangsters 2 PC
I've played Gangsters: Organized Crime for years and since then have always looked for similar strategy based games out there and none lived up to my expectations.

Well recently i went online and looked up Gangsters 1-3 to see what series the game has published and sadly only 2.

Well having paid for and played Gangsters 2 I now know why it stopped at 2. Gangsters 2 provides the same interface or a similar one at any rate as the first release, how ever the viewing area seems very compact. I enjoyed the fact that moving between map views to street level view was simplified from Gangsters where now you can use a scroll wheel to move between them.

Bad sides to this game is that the strategy of the game is dumbed down so much that the game may as well play its self, and all i am is a spectator watching on... really if i wanted to watch a mafia show or movie i wouldn't of bought this game, I'd of gone out and bought the God Father series of movies.

Another problem maybe minor, but the game from what I've seen provides no free-play option to the game. All I've seen is Campaign game play. Lets say i finish the Campaign, well guess what the only thing i can do next is replay the same Campaign over and over and let me tell you.... repetition is boring!
This is why Free-play is added to any strategy based game, once the story mode is beat you can always go on to play randomly generated maps/citys with X number of gangs to deal with.

I'll be honest, Gangsters shouldn't be a game idea that's just dropped, lost and forgotten at all! Game developers need to pick up on the idea and improve on it. Saints Row is an amazing game. Make a 1920's version of Saints Row, tag the name with some thing in relation to Mafia and the game would be a hit.
