Sometimes, dead is better.
Like many Dreamcast owners back in 1999, one of the first titles I purchased for my brand-new 128-bit powerhouse was Soulcalibur. Like many Dreamcast owners, I played it and played it and played it some more, first enjo... Read Full Review

Pretty much the same as the original except for being on a console.
The original Soulcaliber scored a lot of fans. Just about everyone loved it. Even today the series continues and people still love it. Now for those who missed the first game get to play it, and those that didn't miss it... Read Full Review

How cool is it that Soul Calibur 1 is downloadable through Xbox Live? It is too cool! That's how!!
I loved Soul Calibur 1 and I have plenty of time to waste on it until #4 makes it's release on the 29th of this month (only 3 weeks away)! The only big disappointment I have with this version of the game is that the wea... Read Full Review

Far ahead of it's time, Soul Calibur was graceful and perfectly balanced. Even after two sequels, it's still fun today.
Far be it for me to pigeon hole all fighting games as button mashers, I'm particuarly fond of the Soul Calibur series for being the one game to stand out of the crowd. Maybe it's a bad frame of reference, but I downloade... Read Full Review

Soulcalibur is still fun, but missing modes and lack of the online play prevent it from being a complete package.
1999 may seem like a long time ago, but it was the year Soul Calibur came out exclusively on Dreamcast and changed the fighting game landscape for a number of years. To this day, it is still the most critically acclaimed... Read Full Review

With a release date of 1998, this game can compete with any game released for the ps2, xbox, and gamecube.
Many complain that this game is way overrated. Let me first remind all the haters that this game has a release date of 1998. Now take the time to remember what kind of games where out that can compare to Soul Calibur for... Read Full Review

The awakening of the greatest fighting game franchise, Soul Calibur.
Soul Blade (Soul Edge) for the playstation was just a foreshadowing of what Namco was about to create. Soul Calibur clearly distinguishes itself from Tekken, Vertua Fighter or any other fighting games ever created. St... Read Full Review

From Tekken to Soul Calibur? How did Namco do it?
I've played all the Tekkens and own Tekken 3 for the PSX and I have to say they are really poor fighting games, just way to slow and cumbersome to be considered 'fun'. Then the developer who made those games; Namco go an... Read Full Review

I hate fighting games, but I still enjoyed Soul Calibur.
I just don't get what the appeal to fighting games is. With games the way they are, with huge worlds to explore and so much to do, why play a game where you can only move a few feet any direction, and all you do is figh... Read Full Review
