Old school Sonic at it's best.

First off to all those noob fans who I picked on for liking crap games like Shadow or Next Gen. All is forgiven because I'd rather listen to your whines about how this game sucks because Shadow isn't in it and it doesn't... Read Full Review

What Gamespot Users have to say about Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1

I didn't dislike it as much as others did.

While I enjoy the "Sonic the Hedgehog" series, I have to say I find it a little harder to get into the 2D games than the 3D ones. I beat the original "Sonic the Hedgehog" years ago, and I do love "Sonic Mania," but those... Read Full Review

    Sonic 4

Sonic 4 is alright, it's nothing like the games on the Sega Genesis. Music sounds good but doesn't sound as great as the Genesis games. My mine problem is Sonic feels like he has weight when running and doing the spindas... Read Full Review

    Sonic 4 Episode 1

Sonic 4 was released in 2 parts, with years between the episodes. It is a return to the 2D gameplay. The game didn't give a good first impression. First I had to install Java which it needs for the config launcher. The... Read Full Review

So, Imagine Sonic 3. But not great.

Alright, so imagine you have Sonic 1. Take the momentum, the fun, and the retro charm... and then throw them in the trash. Sonic the Hedgehog 4, in my opinion, is a pretty heartless, ugly, and artifical game. Why?Well, S... Read Full Review

This game isn't up to par with the older Sonic games like Sonic 3 and Knuckles or Sonic 1.

All franchises are supposed to have their good times and bad times. For the Sonic series however, it seems to be more bad times than good. The Sonic games started with Sonic 1 and then after Sonic 3 and Knuckles and ther... Read Full Review

It has its moments of amazing retro goodness, but Sonic 4: Episode 1 highlights every problem with 2D Sonic games.

In 2010, Sonic the Hedgehog was dying. In the half-decade leading up, the gaming crowd was exposed to some of the hero's all-time worst offerings. The terrible Sonic '06, the ridiculous Sonic Unleashed, and the completel... Read Full Review

Even a 6.5 is waaaaaay to generous for this disastrous pile of garbage.

Back in September 2009, we were teased for 6 whole months with trailers, concept art, and sites that depicted elements of the Classic (Golden) Era of the Sonic franchise, as well as going back to its roots. As such... Read Full Review

Sonic back on the right track

Yeah I'm a fan of the franchise but as time has gone on it kinda lost some of it's millage, I had to endure one disapointment after another. I think the main problem with the franchise was it was missing the point and ... Read Full Review
