Chapter 12 Destroy Salazar's Statue
As you go up the stairs surrounding Salazar's statue, get into a position where you can see the back of the head. If you look closely, you'll find an explosive red barrel. You can blow it up with a gun, though it's easier to use a Rocket Launcher. Regardless, the blast will destroy the statue.

Chapter 13 Automatic Turret Skip
The deadliest obstacles in Chapter 13 are the automatic turrets. However, you can get around them very easily. Run up the stairs to the gate, move to the right side, and position yourself so the turret's laser is between you and the Brute. When the Brute comes forward to attack you, the automatic turret will target him instead. You can use this opportunity to use the Brute as a meat shield and get through the gate.

Chapter 15 Anti Aircraft Turret Skip
In Chapter 15, you're tasked with destroying an anti aircraft turret that's targeting Mike. Normally, this involves you fighting through the whole area and using a mounted gun to get the job done. However, you can skip this entire sequence if you have a couple of Heavy Grenades or a Rocket Launcher. As soon as the cutscene ends, stand in front of the building where the turret is located, and immediately attack the turret with either of those weapons. It'll explode in mere seconds.

When you reach the automatic turret in Chapter 15, get as close to the laser as possible without triggering it, and then turn around. Shoot any ground-based enemies, but be careful to leave the Novistadors alone. If done correctly, a Novistador will fly into Leon and force him to stumble backwards through the laser. Not only will Leon get past the turret, but the Novistador will be killed by it as well.

Chapter 8 Switches Skip
There's a part in Chapter 8 where you have to pull some switches marked with sun and moon symbols. However, you can skip it. Go to the second floor and reach the gate that's blocking the way. You can't see the mechanism that's keeping the gate shut, but it's located near the torch to the right, just on the other side of the gate. You can shoot in that general direction to trigger the mechanism. However, it's much easier to just throw a grenade through the gate and destroy the mechanism itself. Regardless of the weapon used, the gate will open instantly.

Méndez Quick Kill
If you have the Bolt Thrower that's been upgraded with Attachable Mines, you can kill Méndez very quickly. Go inside the building where the boss fight takes place, but be careful not to walk far enough to trigger the cutscene. Carefully shoot at least 4 mines on the ground where Méndez will spawn at the beginning of the fight. Then aim up at the central wooden beam going across the ceiling, and shoot at least another 6 mines on the beam. Then walk forward to trigger the cutscene. When the fight starts, Méndez will trigger the mines on the ground; if they don't kill his first form immediately, they will still severely damage and leave him wide open to your attacks. When Méndez starts using his second form, he'll grab on to the center beam on the ceiling and trigger that second set of mines. If done correctly, Méndez will die in a matter of seconds.

Hunting Crows With The Bolt Thrower
The Bolt Thrower is a unique firearm in that it's completely silent. This is useful when killing crows for items; since the weapon is silent, it won't startle the other crows and make them fly away. Additionally, even Del Lago won't be triggered if you use the Bolt Thrower to kill fish at the dock.

Ashley's Armor Effects
Ashley's armor is more than just another outfit. As long as she wears it, she's impervious to almost all attacks and friendly fire, including the Rocket Launcher. She'll shrug off getting hit by bullets, but still act disgusted if you throw eggs at her. She will also be too heavy for enemies to pick up, and Leon will have an extra animation where he holds his back in pain after lifting her. This armor makes several sections of the castle much easier to get through.

Farm Animals As Weapons
Early on in the game, you'll have to fight through farm areas that have livestock. However, those animals aren't just for show. If you hit a cow, it'll charge and attack anyone near it. You can even set the cow on fire by shooting the lantern over its head, which will cause it to attack. If you lure an enemy near a pig, it will attack them automatically. You have to be careful, however; the animals are just as likely to attack Leon.
