Anyone remember Laser Squad on the Commodore computers systems?

Anyone remember Laser Squad on the Commodore computers systems? This is that game in a new costume. Turn-based strategy at it's best with nice graphics and good but a bit repeating music and sound effects, I have spent m... Read Full Review

    The redheaded stepchild of X-Com

Rebelstar: Tactical Command is a turn-based strategy game from the creator of X-Com UFO Defense. It is like X-Com in many ways but is it's own game. However, it is so similar they are hard to not compare. So is Rebelsta... Read Full Review

    The Truth is Out There...

A long time ago, in the land where the computers did little more than run DOS, a game called, "X-Com" came out. Hear the crowd gasp as it is revealed, that, yes, the game was actually good! A strategy RPG by heart, it wa... Read Full Review

    Aliens attack...and gamers rejoice

The aliens -- they're everywhere! Run for your lives! Nobody is safe -- women and children first. Interstates are jammed, there's no place to go! We're all going to die! Now that I've got that out of my system, let me qu... Read Full Review

    Xcom Junior

Others have mentioned the links between X-com and this game. I refer to Rebelstar as X-Com Junior. The Earth rebels vs invading aliens. The Turn based combat, minus resource management. You get xcom on the ... Read Full Review

I haven't tasted crack like this in a while!

So yes X-Com it's not, and I want to see a true remake as much as the next fan. But where it succeeds it does very well. The lightly charcter driven story is a nice touch and as great fun as compleatly random levels we... Read Full Review

A fun game for those who loved Jagged Alliance and UFO.

Essentially, this game takes the best part of the old tactical squad games (to whit, the battles), ditches the dreary time wasting bits, and presents it to you in the perfect on-the-go package. Gone is the need to res... Read Full Review

Until we get a true 3D X-Com, this excellent title will have to do.

You either played X-Com in the 90's and got hooked or you have no idea what I'm talking about. Until we get a true turn-based 3D version of the X-Com of old lore, this GBA title will meet your needs for killin' pesky E.T... Read Full Review

I have been playing Rebelstar for the past month in my spare time, and finally finished the campaign, so I felt it was time to share some thoughts, for those who have not yet grabbed it up, or are undecided on the purcha... Read Full Review

Xcom this isn't, but still worth a look at.

I loved playing the old Xcom - UFO Defense game on pc! It was actually my favorite for a VERY long time! The second xcom, Terror from the deep, was so much harder, but still based on the same gameplay mechanics! So yo... Read Full Review
