A new game in the long-dormant, irreverent RPG franchise is on the way from Forza Horizon dev Playground Games.
Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty says that Playground Games put his skepticism to rest after he saw the team's "demonstrated commitment" to creating a new Fable game.
"The craft and dedication that [Playground] brought to Forza Horizon, every bit of that is going to be applied to Fable."
Gavin Raeburn is leaving Playground after 12 years and five Forza games.
The Forza Horizon developer has been working on the RPG for a long time already.
The next Fable game will have Forzatech horsepower under its graphical hood.
Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media is official, meaning we could see a lot more RPGs launch for Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.
Anna Megill is now the lead writer of Playground Game's recently revealed Fable.
