Contra 4 Cheats For DS

1. Challenge Mode

   Complete the game on any difficulty to unlock Challenge Mode. This includes Easy.

2. Hard mode for Classic Contra

   Same as the real classic Contra in NES, once you beat the game, you'll start over with hard mode. More enemies, more bullets flying around.

3. Sound Test In Super C

   To access Sound Mode in the unlockable Super C, as the game's logo is fading in on the title screen hold Y+B and press Start.

4. 99 lives glitch

   This glitch will allow you to obtain 99 lives. In order for this to work, you must have zero lives left, and die at the same time you get an extra life. The best way to do this is by killing the mini boss of level 1 because that usually gets you an extra life. Get hit by one of the fireballs it drops down on you the instant you destroy it.

5. Alternate Color for Unlockable Characters (Probotector, Lucia, Sheena Etranzi, Jimbo & Sully)

   In the Character Select Mode, press up twice or down twice with Probotector, Lucia, Sheena Jimbo or Sully selected to change the character's color. You can change back to the original color by changing to another character and back again.

6. Level 2 Sniper Secret

   By the end of level 2 when the elevator carries you to the top, make sure you have the doubled flame-thrower and homing missiles equipped. Use the homing missiles to eliminate the enemies that come from the door and the red snipers that follow. Next, aim up with the flame thrower and take out the 2 grenade tossing soldiers that appear on the high platforms, ending with the left one. As soon as he is defeated, walk all the way to the left of the screen, face right, and quickly shoot upwards until the 1st sniper that will appear above you is destroyed. As soon as he is defeated, quickly duck. The bullets from the remaining 3 snipers will safely miss you indefinitely. While still ducking, simply equip the heat-seeking missiles and eliminate them.

7. Get 10 men in Super C

   At the title screen for Super C enter the following code

8. 30 Lives in Original Contra

   It's still the same Konami Code, except that A and B are replaced with B and Y, respectively. Input at the start screen of the original Contra game, then press start to begin the game with 30 lives.

9. 34 Lives Code

   After starting a new game in arcade mode on the normal or hard difficulty setting, wait for the first level to start and then tap up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right on the touch screen. Then press B, A, and then tap the center of the touch screen. "Up" on the touch screen refers to the top of the screen, "down" refers to the bottom of the screen, and left and right refer to the left and right sides of the screen. This must be input before the chopper drops your character on the ground, so it must be done very quickly. If done correctly, you will start the game with 34 lives.

11. Upgrade Weapons Fully

    Enter the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right Left, Right, B, A, Start) in the pause menu to either upgrade your weapons fully when entered for the first time in the level or kill your character. It can only be used in Normal or Hard mode (Easy gives you full upgrades automatically).
