How does your Spidey Funko collection measure up?
Funko Pops are everywhere because there is a vinyl collectible for almost every property imaginable, from Batman to some character that appeared on a cereal box in the 1950s. However, some of the more visible and popular of these toys are from properties like Marvel, more specifically, Spider-Man.
Surprise! There are a ton of Spider-Man and Spider-Man adjacent Funko Pops out there in the world--who could have possibly guessed, right? And with Spider-Man: Far From Home just around the corner, there are even more on the way. No matter who your favorite member of the Spider-Verse is, or which Spider-Suit you think is the coolest, there's definitely a Funko Pop vinyl figure out there somewhere for you to collect, display, play with--really, the possibilities are endless.
But the surplus of figures to collect makes for an interesting challenge. With so many Spider-Pops out there in the world, which ones are the best? Which ones should be avoided at all cost? Which ones look like awkward, soulless cursed objects, and which ones look like warm and welcoming friends? After all, we know that Funko has churned out some truly terrible Pop vinyl figures over the years.
Great news: We have the answers for you. After some very careful analysis of the available (and upcoming) Spider-Man Pops, we've compiled a definitive list of the very best (and very worst) Spidey figures you can add to your collection.
BEST: Spider-Man with the Spider-Mobile (51)
Look, the Spider-Mobile may not be as cool or as sleek as, say, the Batmobile, but what it lacks in mean looking lines and mystery it makes up for in charm and well-placed branding. Who doesn't want Spidey in a weird looking jeep?
WORST: Molten Man (474)
Who wants a generic lava monster in their Spider-Man collection? Put this thing back in World Of Warcraft where it belongs.
BEST: Miles (In His Homemade Costume) (403)
Miles' actual costume may be one of the coolest in Spider-Man history, but his Into The Spider-Verse homemade costume (complete with goofy yellow cape) is clearly the cutest.
WORST: Swinging Spiderman (334)
The, uh, positioning of the stand on this one makes it look--let's just call it awkward and leave it alone. Maybe this Peter is more anatomically accurate to spiders than anyone ever wanted or asked for.
WORST: Spider-Man 2099 (81)
Miguel O'Hara is an extremely cool character. This completely flat Pop with no sculpted features, however, is not.
BEST: Blue Venom (234)
For the cheerier Symbiote fan, this blue-hued Venom is a perfect collectible. Just look at his cute lil' tongue.
BEST: Upside Down Spider-Man (259)
Where "Swinging" Spider-Man made things awkward, upside down Spider-Man makes things incredibly fun! Iconic pose, cute accessories--this one is a win in my book.
WORST: Original Spider-Man (03)
As much as I want to give this one the benefit of the doubt for being old I just can't get beyond those blocky, extra-thick costume lines and the completely boring pose. Pass.
WORST: Stealth Suit Spider-Man (469)
This one is less the fault of the Pop itself and more a problem with the costume design. If you ever wanted Peter Parker looking like a Tom Clancy character, this is the collectible for you, we guess.
BEST: School Uniform Peter (265)
Perhaps one of the best looks of any live-action Spider-Man, the costume plus the school blazer. It looked great in the movie, and it looks great as a Pop.
BEST: Spider-Ham (410)
It's Spider-Ham. Do we really need to say anything else?
WORST: Happy With The Check (472)
What do you mean you don't dream of owning a figure of Jon Favreau holding a novelty check?
WORST: Vulture (227)
It's not that Michael Keaton's Vulture doesn't totally rule, but that costume is way, way to busy to look good as a Pop.
BEST: Christmas Sweater Spider-Man (397)
Now, this is more like it. Simple. Perfect. Adorable.
BEST: Mace Wielding MJ (471)
While the idea of owning a Jon Favreau Novelty Check Pop may seem weird, the idea of owning a Zendaya holding a medieval mace actually rules.
WORST: Regular Spider-Man (220)
There's probably a way to be more boring than this particular Pop, but I don't know what it would be.
WORST: Big Time Spider-Man (270)
The pitch for this particular Pop design seems to take way, way too many cues from those horrible Spider-Man ice creams. You know the ones.
BEST: Iron Spider (287)
Proof that you can do a "classic" Spider-look with flair.
BEST: Spirit Spider (467)
Spirit Spider may not be the most well-known member of the Spider-Family, but he's definitely one of the coolest design-wise, and this Pop definitely knows it. It even glows in the dark, so bonus points!
WORST: PS4 Spider-Man (395)
This poor Pop looks like it doesn't know what it wants to do with its hands, so it's frozen forever mid-mask removal. Not very glamorous if you ask me.
