Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: 59 Photos From Disney's New Theme Park Expansion

By Michael Rougeau and Chris E. Hayner on August 28, 2019 at 3:25PM PDT

In a corner of Disneyland far, far away.

In a corner of Disneyland far, far away.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has officially opened at California's Disneyland and Florida's Walt Disney Work. As such, it's an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan. It’s also tough, though, because there’s so much to see and, leading up to the opening, little had been shown from what's truly a dream world for fans.

GameSpot has visited the planet Batuu, and we'd love to tell you the tale of our visit. We were able to attend a preview of Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and learn so much about what to expect, mere days before it opened to the public at the end of May. We also took many photos to document what is truly a massive and impressive addition to the Disneyland experience. There are ships, the cantina, droids--even the bathrooms are unique.

Take a look at the sights that Batuu’s Black Spire Outpost has to offer and then check out our in-depth look at everything Galaxy's Edge has to offer. That includes a look at the Star Wars-themed food and drinks available for sale (yes, of course there's blue milk) and the super-expensive droid you can buy if you've got a whopping $25,000 to drop in between checking out the various attractions. Fortunately, there's plenty of other cool Star Wars merchandise to buy if your budget is a bit more modest.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now open at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. All of this comes ahead of the conclusion of the current movie trilogy and the Skywalker saga; Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker releases in theaters this December.

Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is surprisingly massive.

Disney partnered with Coca-Cola for custom Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Dasani water bottles.

DJ R-3X supplies the jams in the Cantina.

He also talks a lot in between songs.

    Even the bathrooms are dope.

All the ships, including this TIE Fighter, are life-sized and great for selfies.

Storm Troopers will greet you--if you're not an obvious Resistance member.

Galaxy's Edge's life-sized Millennium Falcon rests near the entrance to the Smuggler's Run ride.

You can use the Play Disney Parks app to translate signs like this one throughout Star Wars Land.

These are not for sale (we asked).

You can construct your own droid in the Droid Depot.

Grab pieces from a conveyor belt and take them to the assembly station.

Once your droid is assembled, press the red button to activate it.

Take your droid home in a custom backpack.

This is the most expensive thing that will be sold at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Yes, it's a functioning $25,000 R2 droid that you can customize in a variety of ways.

The food served within Galaxy's Edge will include options for a variety of diets, including vegan and vegetarian.

A blue milk cheers (it tastes sweet and vaguely tropical).
