Best Stuff in Comics This Week

Every week, we take a look at some of the most bizarre, exciting, and downright unique things to happen in comics. Check out our choices of the strange and wacky things that shouldn't be overlooked from this week's releases.

Worst Nightmare for Spider-Man

Spider-Man has a lot of enemies. Strangely, many have died over the years. Imagine entering a room and seeing all the dead villains brought back to life. These aren't exactly clones. They're supposedly not as evil as they originally were. Spidey may have his hands full soon.

Best Homage, Part 1

The variant cover for New Super-Man #5 is a homage to the amazing cover for 1975's Action Comics #454. We won't go into the details for that classic story, but if you ever get a chance to read it, you won't regret it.

Best Homage, Part 2

There was also a homage inside the issue. Super-Man is lifting a car over his head in a similar fashion to 1938's Action Comics #1.

Best Reason to Be Careful With Karate Hands

If you ever find yourself surrounded by police and you're wearing a superhero mask, be careful how you hold your hands. They may perceive them as deadly "karate hands."

Best "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet" Moment

In a story from Wonder Woman's first year outside Themyscira, Diana is still learning about the ways of "Man's World" as well as the extent of her powers. There's a massive shooting going on at a mall, and Wonder Woman discovers she's faster than bullets from a machine gun.

Best Use of Powers to Save Breakfast

Peter Parker is making pancakes while talking to Mary Jane. One gets out of control, but luckily their daughter has spider-powers and manages to catch the pancake before it falls to the floor.

Best Showdown Between Former Friends

Betty and Veronica have had their differences but became great friends. Unfortunately, things have drastically turned. The two are are beginning to wage a war against each other.

Best Reason Made Up Cursing Can Make You Look Crazy

Luke Cage has tried not using profanity around his daughter. The problem is that using those made up curse words around others earns him some strange looks.

Best New Bat-Gadget, Part 1

The odds are against Batman. He's outnumbered. Luckily, he has plenty of surprises in his costume, including a new feature that shoots out projectiles from the bat-emblem on his chest.

Best New Bat-Gadget, Part 2

Shooting projectiles from his chest isn't the only new trick Batman has. He is also able to shoot from his knuckles.

Strangest Deadpool Dream While Knocked Out

Deadpool is unconscious but believes he's partying and eating sushi off a woman. Things shift to a naked Johnny Storm, who is trying to wake Deadpool up in the real world.

Best Homage, Part 3

This has been quite a week for homages. Casey Brinke is finding out the truth to her existence. While reading a comic, she comes across a page very similar to the cover of Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.

Best Comic Creator Cameo

For some reason, Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan appears in the opening scene in a doctor's office. We hope he's feeling okay.

Best Example Why You Can't Hide Past Fashion From Your Kids

Superman's son asks him about his wardrobe choice. In particular, he asks about his costume with the "undies on the outside." Superman does his best to explain why they weren't really undies.

Best Example Math Jokes Are Always Bad

Deadpool is temporarily wearing the Venom symbiote. He makes a really bad math/rabbit joke that proves jokes involving math are always bad.

Best Reason to Put on Pants Before Leaving the House

There are some things you should always be sure to do before you leave the house. Wearing pants is a pretty important one.
