Avengers: Endgame is just days away from hitting theaters, and if you're like me--someone dying to see the movie--then you can't wait for it to come out, especially after GameSpot's glowing review. Luckily, you can learn more about the upcoming movie through upcoming toy sets.
While you wait, Lego has unveiled its upcoming sets for Avengers: Endgame. What's the big deal with that? Well, traditionally, Lego sets are tied to the movies, and they tend to reveal a bit about the plot of the movie. Back in 2017, a Spider-Man: Homecoming Lego set revealed secondary character Shocker, as well as Damage Control's introduction into the MCU.
With the reveal of these Avengers: Endgame, the new Lego sets may reveal more information about what's going on in the movie. This includes battles we might see and new characters that could appear. Here are the new Avengers: Endgame Lego sets and what we think will happen in the movie based on the toys.
Captain America: Outriders Attack
Cost: $20
Pieces: 167
Available: April 1
Outriders Attack -- Product Description
"Take on 3 Outriders with Captain America’s bike! Fight back with the Captain America shield shooters. Then jump out of the cockpit, detach the blasters, and battle those enemy Outriders one on one!
The official description for the set doesn't give too much away. We'll see the Outriders again--the multi-limbed beasts from Infinity War during the battle of Wakanda. Additional description bullet points for this product call Captain America's suit "Avengers team suit decoration." So there's no indication that these are made from the same tech as Ant-Man's suit, which can travel to the Quantum Realm.
Outriders Attack: Minifigures
From left to right: Three Outriders and Captain America
As you can see, Captain America is in his Avengers outfit that matches the rest of the team, which was seen in a recent trailer. But seeing as Infinity War ended with Thanos dusting everyone and leaving--presumably with the Outriders--why do the Outriders appear here? Could this be after Steve Rogers and company head back in time and Cap gets a sweet motorcycle or is this just a fun set with no real connection to any scene in the movie?
Super Heroes Iron Man Hall of Armor
Cost: $60
Pieces: 524
Available: April 1
Hall of Armor - Product Description
"Join Tony Stark in the Iron Man Hall of Armor and experiment with new tech! Make a smoothie in the kitchen. Work at the desk and get suited up using the robotic arms. Lift heavy objects in the Iron Man lab wearing the massive Igor Suit. And if your experiments go wrong, get the robot to put out fires with the fire extinguisher. But watch out—an Outrider is trying to break in so grab a weapon and capture this dangerous invader! You can rebuild this awesome Hall of Armor in loads of different ways, so the action never stops!"
The Igor Suit--also known as Mark (MK) 38--is another suit with super strength capabilities, kind of like the Hulkbuster armor. Lego wouldn't feature a larger set like this unless it was in the movie. However, Tony Stark's Hall of Armor was destroyed back in Iron Man 3, and during this time, Stark had developed the Igor Suit. So did Stark travel back to this time, before Age of Ultron, and for what purpose?
Hall of Armor - Minifigures
From left to right: Two Outriders, Iron Man suits MK I, MK 5, MK 45, and MK 50.
There are a couple more Outriders included in this set, and that could mean these villains are hunting down the Avengers if they are in fact traveling through time. It is pretty cool to see the Mach I here from the first Iron Man movie. Hopefully, that makes an appearance in Endgame.
Avengers Ultimate Quinjet
Cost: $80
Pieces: 838
Available: April 1
Quinjet - Product Description
"Get set for battleagainst the Chitauri with the Avengers Ultimate Quinjet! Prepare the weapons with Rocket and Thor in the passenger compartment. Jump in the cockpit with Black Widow and take off. Fire the stud shooters and the 6-stud rapid shooter. Make a smooth landing and continue the fight on the wings. Then surprise the enemy with the stud-shooting trike!"
The Chitauri were the army Loki used in the first Avengers movie, and it looks like they're back again. We were aware that the Quinjet was in the movie from the trailers, so there isn't too much to take away from this set, except the Chitauri are back.
Quinjet - Minifigures
From left to right: Two Chitarui warriors, Rocket, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Thor.
War Machine Buster
Cost: $35
Pieces: 362
Available: April 1
War Machine Buster - Product Description
"Emergency! Ant-Man is under attack by the dangerous Outriders. Fly to the rescue with the mighty War Machine Buster! Fire the 6-stud rapid shooter and the flick missiles. Grab an Outrider with the massive mech’s powerful hands. Then detach the stud-shooting cannons and battle the enemy on the ground with War Machine!"
So, if this is a War Machine Buster, does that mean it was made with the intent of fighting War Machine, like Iron Man's Hulkbuster? Well, if we're going by the description, this giant robot will be helping out War Machine and Ant-Man in the movie.
War Machine Buster - Minifigures
Avengers Compound Battle
Cost: $100
Pieces: 699
Available: April 1
Avengers Compound Battle - Product Description
"Team up with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Nebula and Ant-Man and defend the Avengers’ compound! Make plans in the office and grab weapons from the table’s secret compartment. Monitor Thanos and the Outrider’s approach to the Avengers HQ with the radar, then speed into action. Activate the rooftop defense system. Target the Outrider with the offroader's dual stud shooter, then launch the Avengers' helicopter and fire its rapid shooter!"
The Avengers headquarters is in upstate New York, and there wouldn't be this specific of a set if it didn't happen in the movie. As to whether this is towards the beginning or ending of the movie seems to be the real question. Could the Avengers Compound be the setting for the final scenes in Endgame?
Avengers Compound Battle - Minifigures
From left to right: Outrider, Thanos, Hulk, Nebula, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel
One thing to note here is that Thanos has the Infinity Gauntlet with two of the stones in it. One is the Power Stone and the other looks like it could be the Mind Stone. However, there is a slight chance it's the Time Stone too, as the color does look a little green. It looked like the Gauntlet was destroyed at the end of Infinity War, so did Thanos fix the weapon or is this Thanos from before he collected the rest of the Infinity Stones?
