Not what you would think in a Full Metal Alchemist Game. It would be better to barrow it or rent it first before buying.

Out all the all the animes I've seen in my life (That's only like 5...I don't watch a lot.) This is one of my top favorite. When I noticed there was a game, I decided to barrow it from a friend and then try it out. It was okay I have to say. It's probably not what most people would expect from a Full Metal Alchemist game, but it's decent I have to say.

First off let's talk about the story. The story starts off with a recap of Edward and Alphonse trying to transmute their mother back to life. One would think that it's would be about Edward and Alphonse's whole add venture, but then it cut off to Edward, Alphonse, and Armstrong on a train back to Central. The train is then hijacked, while Edward and Al have to stop it. This causes a disaster to were the engine gets wrecked. Ed and Al then are stuck near Hiessgart. When they arrive they find Chimeras everywhere. Then they meet up with Professor Eiselstien, Izumi's teacher, and his 'daughter' Armony. I will no long go into any other details due to spoilers...yeah. The story is a bit confusing at first, but the end does give a clear up of what happened. It lagged a bit and was a bit uninteresting, but that's what surrounded the game.

Graphics of the game are okay. The cutscenes and character icons are both drawn well to represent the anime. Then rest of the game is 3-D. It really bothered me that some obstacles you seemed to be able to jump over are invisible walls. That really bothered me a bit that some stuff you had to go around when you could jump over it.

The sound bothered me a bit. The anime cutscenes were great and matched the anime well, but the in game sounds had bad quality. Then the music in the game don' match the anime at all. It was okay that the in game music was different, but they could have made the cutscenes match the anime.

Now the game play was okay. It was good to be able to use alchemy in the game, but the problem was it sometimes toke too long to transmute something. It was also hard to jump on the walls. Either you had to wait a while until it's an automatic jump, or you had to have good aim. Also most of the bosses are really easy and take nothing to defeat, until you reach the end where the bosses are just cheap, and still not that hard. One of the bosses toke only one damage with each hit just to make the game longer, then you had to go up the castles and defeat three bosses. Final right after that fight it goes straight to a cutscene where the whole arena is transmuted into something different and you had to kill the same boss over and over again just to hit the other boss a couple of times without a distractions. You were also limited to the control over Alphonse through the entire game.

In summery, the game is okay, but not a instant hit in my books.
