The military sim that will make you an expert in the field.

User Rating: 8.2 | Full Spectrum Warrior XBOX
Ok Full Spectrum Warrior is a unique RTS that throws you into recent major events happening in the world, i.e. the war in Iraq. It really is an actual training aid for the U.S. military. So for those of you who feel like dying in a useless war, or those who want to be in the army when an actual reason to fight comes up, or for those who are just lookin' for a good ole' army game, this is for you.

Gameplay: One thing that everyone will notice as soon as you pop the disc in, this is not your regular military shooter....hell it's barely a shooter. FSW is an RTS that takes advantage of it's crazy, but well used controls. I advise anyone not to jump into this game directly....yes go through the tutorial once or twice, because trust me if you just jump right in, the enemy opposition will waste no time in riddling your dumb ass with bullets. So yes do the tutorial. The game isn't hard, actually it's quite easy once you get the feel for it. Once you master the games akward control scheme you will find yourself ordering fire sectors on that wannabe Rambo running through the car lot, and the group of Taliban who think that taking cover behind a chain link fence is a good idea. There is plenty of strategies you can use in this game, and plenty of ways to get job done. I really liked how the cover you use will wear down after time making it useless forcing you to rethink and replan a course of action.

Graphics: The visuals really took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting this kind of detail in an RTS game, but trust me the soldiers themselves look battle hardened and ready for a scrap. The enviroments are beautiful, even though most of them are a brownish color. And be ready for heat, because the firefights can get EXTREMELY intense, and are a beauty to watch....just not for too long. Character animations are smooth as butter, and watching them reload, run to cover, and carry each other to safety is incredibly satisfying to watch.

Sound: Marvelous. Incredible sound fills the air as guns, rockets, aircraft and all other sorts of noise emanates from your t.v. The salty language sounds just about right for two squads of guys gettin' shot at. I mean I don't know about you but I would'nt exactly be using proper grammar in the middle of a street filled with lead.

Overall: I think FSW is very good title. Once again this is a game thats intended for people over 15. I doubt your 7 year old will even grasp the concpet of supressing fire. Also this is a game meant for gamers who actually think. If you're a gamer who can use strategy in his ass whuppins' than get the game and have fun. But if you're the type of gamer who storms into a room filled with 20 Kalishnikov wielding enemies with nothing but an army knife and 9mm with 5 bullets left.......don't expect to survive in this game......hell....don't even look at it....quick...go buy Goldeneye.
