This game i purchased 4 years ago and i played it non stop for 5 months and i was enthralled. Recently i found the cd under my bed 1 week ago (seriously!) and decided to give it a go. Amazing. Thats the first thing that i thought after playing it for 20mins. This game has aged well and the gameplay has to be the best turn based stratergy ever. Like final fantasy, but deeper yet intuitive. The graphics werent brilliant at the time and they havent aged that well, but graphics arent what this game is about. The major thing in my opinion which makes me love this game is its story. Forget final fantasy, this is squaresoft's playstation 1 masterpiece of a story. I wont give it away, but there are 2 ways to experience this game and it is worth playing the game twice for it. My fav game ever is metal gear solid 3 and my second fav game is this masterpiece. Its far from perfect as a game, with several niggling flaws, but they pale in comparison to the enthralling battles and thought provoking plot. There is no speech in the game just text, yet the characters are well displayed and you actaully care about them and its a shame that it wasnt as hyped or celebrated as its inspiration yet not as good series, final fantasy. Its a shame that front mission 4 isnt in the same league as this yet this game provides more than enough gamplay. Incredible.
