Wow. They actually did it.

From Russia with love is EA's latest attempt to make a worthwhile James Bond game. And after a few failures, they finally did it.

FRWL starts with some one's rich daughter getting kidnapped, and as the famous 007, t's your job to stop him.

The game offers a variety of missions, with a good amount of variety. Most missions involve you shooting your enemies by hand, but others offer driving elements, and there are even some jet packs. The all generally work well, but there are a couple of thigs holding this game back from being truly great.

The control is great. The game's lock on works well, and it's not overly complicated. Use the analog stick to move, the shoulder buttons to aim and shoot, and the DPad is used to select your weapons. T.he X button is your action button. It does a number of different things, gepending on the situation

There are a variety of guns at your disposal too, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. A powerful gun, for example, will have a shorter range, but a weaker gun might be able to shoot a enemies on another rooftop.

Using these guns works very well with the auto lock. Pressing L1 will make you aim at the nearest enemy, and L2 will make you shoot. It generally works well, and aims you at the enemy that poses the greatest threat to you. It's only draw back is that it makes killing the enemies slightly too easy.

But any lack of difficulty is made up for in the boss fights. they can be quite a pain to win if you don't know what you're doing. However you are usually given a strong weapon to give you a chance.

Apart from shooting your enemies to death, or you can beat them, if they're close enough. When you shoot them once, a button will appear over their heads. If you press that same button the controller, Bond will make some fancy move to finish off his opponent.

The car battles work well, except the control is problematic. Turning with the analog stick is kind of loose, and can make steering hard.

EA also added some questionable jet pack sequences. These actually worked out quite well, and are a worthy addition to the game, even if they weren't in the original story.

FRWL isn't stunning graphically, but it all looks good. James Bond actually looks like Sean Connery, and the enemies and settings are all clear.

As you've probably already heard, Sean Connery came back and reprised his role as 007, and he did a great job of it. Apart from him, the music creates great ambiance, and the guns all sound appropriate. The foot steps sound strangely realistic.

FRWL is really a great gfame. It's alot of fun, but there aren't really alot of unlockables. Just some upgrades for your weapons. While there isn't alot of gameplay to set it apart from its competitors, this game is deffinately worth playing.
