Freekstyle is SSX on motorcycles, but is it as fun as SSX?

Motorcycle sport games have always mainly been for advertising or just to make a quick buck, now EA puts out a new game, Freekstyle, which promises high-altitude tracks and amazing tricks, sign me up!

Well as we all know, all sports game don't have or need a story, which is fine. Basically all you do is race and do tricks, but in the Circuit, it's a mix of those things, but the twist is that on races, you also have to do tricks, which COMPLETELY changed my whole preparation. There are about 6 tracks here, and they all pretty much rock. EA surely got the high-altitude part down quite nicely. Most of the maps have HUGE drops and jumps, and just plain awesome set pieces, it seems like I'm going on a new track every 2 miles, they're all that epic. Now you can even choose cool racers with their own personality, plus change outfits, and choose different bikes that give you an advantage in the track. But, in the beginning of the circuit, you only have 3 basic racers and their 1st items. You unlock new gear and tracks by completing these events. It's all just put together so well. Like I said before, each character has their own personality, which I liked so much. When you heard those computer generated characters speak, it pretty much choose wether or not this person relates to your type of mood, from crazy to seductive. It choose which character I decided to stick with and which characters I'd enjoy playing as after I unlock them. Another thing is that the racer will share their opinions with you as you choose their outfits and bikes, by saying stuff like he doesn't want to wear this or she makes this look good. It felt like I was talking with the character.

My only complaint with this is that I'm reviewing this on the Gamecube, and the buttons are so spread out that I can't remember what button is where, and just to contain my argument, I got the PS2 version and it played BETTER. That's only why I gave this version a 9.5.

So Freekstyle, should you Buy, Rent, or Skip. Oh yes, easy question, a buy for anyone. Wether or not you like Motocross, you'll love this game anyway. Everything in the game is directed nicely and everything is epic, my only issue is that I recommend the PS2 version over the Gamecube version, because the controls seem to be a bit better.
