A Solid Shooter, If Not Maybe Too Run-of-The Mill. Still Fun To Play
As a basic shooter, your weapons are average for such a game you're armed with machine guns, rifles, rocket launchers and even terrain altering grenades and explosives.
The in-game cinematics are quite enjoyable, and so is the game's world and environment
As for its plot, Fracture does not hold much promise. Its a basic sci-fi storyline, the world as we know it is gone and is replaced by a dystopian setting.
Bionics and genetics rule everyday life and cause wars and conflicts, including the one Fracture is set in.
Your character is your usual war hero, decorated for his actions and with the future's new abilities in battle at his disposal.
You are pitted against a psychopath general intent on world destruction.
Simple but solid, yet nothing inspiring. I wouldn't pay full price for Fracture when it was first released, better give it a purchase when its reduced in price or on the the pre-owned shelf.
However if you can find it on the cheap on pre-owned its a solid few hours of gameplay that will give you a change of pace from your current shooters.
The Good:
- Solid gameplay.
- A fun and amusing use of terrain altering ability at your disposal through the game.
- A good selection of weapons at hand to use.
- Star Wars alike musical score.
The Bad:
- An unoriginal, if solid story plot. However its not inspiring.
- Gameplay can become derivative and repetitive
- Although a solid shooter, you feel sometimes its been underdeveloped.
Give Fracture a go, if you have the spare change and get it on the cheap its a solid few hours of gaming you can at least enjoy.
