I wanted to create a thread where people can give constructive feedback on other peoples YouTube videos and channels. I think if you're going to succeed of YouTube, then help from fellow content creators and gamers is essential.

Please don't post more than one video a week

Please don't be scathing or too negative

If you want feedback... then leave feedback!

I'll be sure to look at as many as I can and subscribe/comment to some goodies!

I'm not sure why, but my first post didn't show up, so I'll try this again.

Hi seany9990,

I love your idea about having a thread to get feedback on each others channels!

I looked at your two videos. I liked the review for the Batman game. It was informative and made good points about the game. One thing to note, I did notice you said "Um..." a lot. Don't worry too much about it, I've done it several times as well, but try to avoid it as much as possible. In your second video, you didn't enunciate as well and sounded monotone. Try to sound your words more clearly and add more emotion to your narration. One last thing that I would like to suggest, is perhaps cut your outro to be shorter. Ten seconds for something like that is plenty. Any longer kind of feels like you are being too pushy. I really hope that I gave good feedback and that it helps you.

I currently have a Let's Play series that I recently finished on my channel. I feel that my later videos are better than my first few, but because it is a series, I feel weird posting them out of order... So I'll post the first video here for feedback. If you have time and enjoy my content, I would love if you could check out the other videos and let me know whether I have improved or not. If not, I understand. Oh, and don't worry about hurting my feelings at all. I want honest feedback. Constructive criticism is good criticism (as long as it's not rude)! =) I look forward to your feedback.

Here is my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOwaLrlrDxa9aG81Ssu6Z5Q

Here is my first video:

I am starting a new Let's Play series next week, and would love feedback for that too. =)

G'day guys, what's happening?!? My name is NatoPotato and here is a little bit about me.

I have been gaming since god knows when and it has always been a really big passion of mine. I bring these videos to you because I want to express my passion for gaming and play the games that I enjoy playing to, hopefully, bring a smile and laughter to someone's day and to make things a little better.

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/NatoPotatoOfficial
Website: http://www.natopotatoofficial.com/

It's great to see new youtubers trying to get out there and make a difference to someone's day. I enjoyed both of these videos but I feel they could do with a little bit more editing and slightly louder vocals.

@seany9990 - I really liked how informative your videos are.

@fairywren - I liked the fact that you are doing a play through of nothing I have ever seen before :)

Here is my most recent video, I would love to hear your feedback.

@fairywren: Thanks so much for the honest feedback! I really appreciate it and will definitely take it on board. I enjoyed the first episode you posted and LOVE it when content creators choose different games to the mainstream (I know I'm a hypocrite!). Sub for sub? And I look forward to this becoming a cool little thread for us up 'n' comers!

Hey All,

Just started doing a few youtube videos and wanted some feedback from you guys. Not amazing quality and content yet but i'm hopefully getting better :)

@seany9990 I like the GTVA vid, mixed it up having someone else in the video and it was funny. Also I like your channel its a good design and consistent with the thumbnails and so on.

@natopotato I liked your channel a lot as well and watched your intro video, it's really good looks like you have a ton of views on it as well. Watched your rocket league vid as well, love a bit of rocket league, so much fun!

Have a look at my channel if you get the chance and let me know what you think, any feedback is good :)

My channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6W0A3qDH3ZnZ6PR_oTQiSQ

One of my recent videos below, not my best but just having a mess around on Far Cry 4.

I just checked out your video and it's great! I love the editing :)
Your channel looks awesome as well and you have some really good content, the only suggestions I have is to get a facecam!
Keep it up man!
I'll definitely give you a sub :)

@helloarp: Hey!

I actually really liked the video. My kind of easy going video with unforced humour, though I would speed up the edit with some snappier cuts. That video could have been 5-6 minutes with just as much quality. Glad to see the thread is finally getting somewhere! :)

Keep it up, just gave you a sub and look forward to what you do next!

@seany9990: Hey,

Thanks really glad you liked the video. Thanks for the feeback as well I have already adited a few ready to go up but once they are done I try and make them a lot more snappier. 5-6mins is probably a better amount of time to keep people interested and watching as well.

Subbed to both of you.

Cheers,

@tr4gagamers: Hey! I'm glad to see new content creators but please acknowledge other YouTubers in this thread to keep everything friendly rather than just trying to SPAM your channel around forums!

Also, I would consider rethinking your thumbnails so that everything appears more professional :)

@seany9990 Your review of the Batman game was really good, nice and informative. I might even go get the game myself.

I myself just started this whole YouTube playing games thing so I'm bright and shiny still. I know I have some bugs to work out like my volume was a huge issue in my first videos but I'm learning. I'll post my most recent video so you all can tell me what you think. I'm a big boy so I can take what you say, bad or good.

Thanks

Hey guys, as you can tell from my signature and avatar my channel on Youtube is known as Couch Pals Let's Play.

I'm trying to post several videos a week, while having an array of "partners/pals" on the show. Ideally in the near future I'd like to have a specific pair that everyone will like but for now that's how I'll be rolling. Recently this week I've posted Episodes 1 and 2 for Conker's Bad FurDay!I would love to have you guys check it out and will take any criticism or advice you have to offer whether it concerns the video/audio editing or even the actual content in the video! Here's the link to episode 2!

Loading Video...

I hope you all enjoy!! If you guys want to start with episode one I've supplied a link to it within the description of episode 2.

@billybigrigger: I really like to see these kind of games with proper videos because they don't get proper marketing. Really enjoyed the video and some of the stuff you said was pretty funny and on-point BUT i would consider chopping it down to make it snappy, especially because not much happens on-screen to keep us occupied. Keep it up. (also i'm not sure the outro music suited your style)

@couchpals: really enjoyed you guys and I have no problem for the video, it was great... BUT i think if you're going to do the buddy-buddy thing then maybe show your faces on a webcam once in a while to get more interaction with viewers. Glad to have you on here! (and I'm glad to see other people enjoying rare replay!!

Here's my latest Gaming with Jadee video! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

@addrianbfr: For starters, what do you plan on doing with this/these kinds of videos? I mean, if you want to showcase some kind of play through of a game not many people will watch 12 mins of gameplay for a game that's been released for quite some time.

Though, if you want to release short snippets of hard to do/stunts with no commentary, that might be possible. Most viewers on Youtube though like to have the presence from some sort of human, ya know? And if you start adding commentary, I'd suggest on working towards getting an intro/outro for your videos.

Hey bros! :)

Here's an informative video I've got for describing how region compatibility works with the PlayStation Games, Network, and Consoles.

I'm being followed by a very healthy number of haters just downvoting my videos so I would really appreciate it if you guys can help me boost my channel up! :)

Thank you! :D

Edit: @tagleashgamer, in the video used above the only thing I can say is to practice what you plan to speak about before recording, and also make sure your volume/level of excitement are consistent. Maybe just me, but it felt like you were too quiet in parts, and you also seemed a bit confused or undecided about what you would say next. Also, ignore your haters, lol. I'm new to the Youtube thing, so I'm not so sure I can provide solid advice beyond that.

ANYWAY! Okay, didn't realize this was a universal feedback thread! About to go delete my thread focused solely on my channel. Haha.

So with that said, I'd greatly appreciate thoughts, feedback, general criticism/comments on a video or two. I'll post up my Batman Arkham Knight PC Version video. Basically a comedy video, so just check it out and let me know what you guys think:

okay, if the playthrough is kind hard, how about the videos about fifa, uncommon goals, and etc.
then for intro, i am trying to make some intros, hopefully it will help.

for commentary to, i am using my native language ("indonesian), or should i use english instead?

Thanks for your advices

@addrianbfr: I think English would be the way to go, but if you want maybe make some videos using Indonesian to increase your audience that most English speakers wouldn't get. But yeah, English being one of the common languages used around the world I think that'd be best.

As for the uncommon goals for your fifa videos, make a montage style video that showcases crazy goals or something to that extent. At least, I feel like that'd be the way to go!

@seany9990 thanks man for thinking some of that was funny! I love indie games because so many of them are so good and so far from normal. I'll be trying many more indie games in the future. I agree it could have used some chopping since the beginning seasons on the game are a bit slow but in a few seasons things get faster and more crazy but I'll keep it in mind to chop out the slow parts. As for the tunes...I'm an old rave kid from the 90's and just made it in about 10 mins. Maybe I should make some hillbilly tunes...since I am Billy Bigrigger. Thanks again for the suggestions.

@Assassin_87:

Very nice review. One thing I'd probably look into would be to do the very spliced up style of Voice Over for reviews where it's not just one take but in fact several takes spliced together, to avoid the long breathes you might take when doing it all together.

I feel like that style is generally easier received then the natural one, on Youtube at least.

Very nice job on this one, btw, @seany9990, two player gameplay with dual commentary is always fun to watch.

Thanks for the feedback as well @couchpals, will keep that in mind when doing future videos. I've also heard of minimizing the audible breathing by editing it out in whatever recording/mixing program is being used.

With that here's another one of my own submissions of a different style, but still something we do. This video is a bit older, so the mic quality on both sides is lower, but I'd like some thoughts on this as well:

Your voice is too monotone, your video content is good though. Try to loosen up the vocabulary. It might sound stupid, but really people would much rather listen to basic words to get the point across. Not that I couldn't understand any of it, just for one reason or another its less preferable when you're trying to sit back and watch gaming videos.

Hey guys! I wanted to let you all know I got a new video up this week and would love to hear what you guys think of it! We do a little "Voice acting" and I improv some lines here and there. Let me know if it works or if it's a bust! (I find it funny so I hope you do too!)

@couchpals: Hey guys, the video is great, really works with the two of you. Only thing I can say is that I would limit how much you talk over each other. I don't know how you could do this but maybe have some form of non-verbal communication with each other to prevent it - great singing btw ;)

Hi people,

A mate an I just punched out this video and was wondering if we could get some feedback. We think we are getting better but we know we can certainly improve. Your honest feed back would really be appreciated. :-)

It's an unboxing of a new monitor that we bought to help us with video editing and thought lets make a video while we are at it. The new channel we are launching doesn't really involve many unboxing's, but there will be some time to time.

Thanks for your time!

Please subscribe if you like us LOL!

@billybigrigger:Hey Billy! Another good video, but I would try and edit the final cut to speed it up. Maybe pick the highlights out and just string them together (chuck in some slow-mo's and zooms?) You may have one of the best voices on Youtube... jealous

@hatlesschimp:Hey guys, I tried doing an unboxing and was a little unsure and quiet too. I suggest a bit more confidence and maybe cutting it together to make it a bit more fluid. Over 5 minutes is maybe a bit long for a simple monitor unboxing. Will definitely check out your channel for some gaming videos.

Also please acknowledge the hard work put into all the videos in the thread. This isn't a place to just drop a video, please give some feedback on recently posted videos to keep this a helpful feedback forum.

@couchpals Hey dudes! It really sounds like you guys have fun in your video and for me that goes a long way if it sounds genuine which you guys totally do. If you keep up that kind of high energy and voice acting thing you do then add video capture of you two together doing that I think you have gaming gold. Seeing you guys do that would be funny and at that point I don't think you would have to worry about talking over each other because it would be two dudes just having fun.

@seany9990 Yeah I think you are right...highlights are a good idea and I'll figure out some slow mo action and zooms, I like it! Thanks for commenting on my voice, I'm personally not a fan because I hear it all day long and we are our own worst critics lol. Time to crank out some videos boys!!!!!

@hatlesschimp:

It was a good video guys! The one thing I'd probably want you guys to change is the cutting of scenes where it feels like it's a bit slow. Like when you guys were trying to open the box, it seemed unnecessary. D:

But on the side note, lighting looked great, you guys seemed to be quite informed on the product. On those merits, it's a great video!

@billybigrigger: Hey man, sweet video. I would have to agree with Seany though. Getting some of the highlights would probably serve to make your video more appreciated by people with smaller attention spans :P But regardless, watching you play it makes me want to pick up the game! Also, thanks for the kind words concerning my own video!
