These people are retarded. It makes me so angry that they blame games for everything. I have played violent games since I was little, but I NEVER had a history of violence or aggressive behaivor. In fact alot of people consider me to be more gentle and lazy than anyhting. Shoot, I'm even almost a straight A student(most B's). You know why I don't do anything crazy? GOOD PARENTING. If these parents brought up their kids right in the first place then none of this would happen. If the kid has a mental problem of aggressive behaivor then don't let them play. I have 2 nephews. 6 and 4. They play games like you wouldn't imagine. What have they done violent? NOTHING. Unless you consider play fighting, which almost all kids do, with their uncle(me) a violent thing to do which in normal society, it's completely healthy. They are boys after all lol. Violence can be stopped by good parenting, not by putting rules on games! Shoot, and give the store a little more heat for this. Most stores still don't even check I.D. when buying an M-rated game! gosh, these people need to yell at the parents, not the developers and industry.

Honsetly if games are as danerous as they think and half of america plays games then the country would be in complete anarchy right now! Games have a rating system so if a 9-year-old is playing a mature game it's the parents fault not the industry or the retailers. Any sane person can tell you that games can't train you to kill and if someone can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality then they are messed up to begin with. As someone who has played games for most of my life andnever been arrested, never acted up in school,and doesn'teven drink/smoke I find their level of ignorance appalling. This is freaking absurd..... I use to be a little juvinile when I was a boy and you know what it wasn't video games,it was my enviroment. It's really funny how they blame video gamesfor the violence caused by children and teenagers, but the funny thing is they haven't even fixed the poverty in America andnow they wanna find an excuse on why people do these violent crimes.. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize thatsomeone who is really poorand can't afford what others can doesn't have nothing to lose and will attack the others who are more fortunate than they are. Blame society and and the community itself were the reason why crimes like this occur because it all aboutmoney and materialism.
wow, obviously they haven't played many games. Whereas I do think that violent video games somewhat contribute to killings and suicides (remember that kid in Florida who killed himself over SW: Battlefront II), they really need to lay off. Games like Halo aren't going to turn little kids into future aggro killers, but Manhunt, maybe...

Jack Thompson and Joe LIEberman suck. That "social responsibility" they're talking about? That would be a parents' responsibility to male sure their kid isn't a screw up in everyday social settings, and once again, they are avoiding the logic that people who push kids who have issues like the columbine shooters are just as f***ed up as anyone who pulls a trigger and ought to be locked up for putting innoccent kids in the paths of bullets. Of course, it's easier to say someone else is screwing up our kids, not us.
Oh my god....so they think that people who play flight simulators can learn how to fly planes by playing the simulators, and little kids learn how to shoot guns by playing FPSs? I have absolutely no idea how to fire guns and I play FPSs all the time.

There is no reason that any of you should be worried about what Jack Thompson is doing. These bills and law suits will never amount to anything.
Don't forget that in the decades to come, it is our generation that will be running this country, Jack Thompson will be a memory we can all laugh about. The odds are for the gamers here. It's as simple as that.
