I need to hear many opinions.

My question is this:

What is the XBOX One X Updating when it is Updating games?

I have downloaded for instance 20 something game updates for Elder Scrolls Tamriel Edition and they have all been over 100 GB and took hours to download one of them and if I turn my console on every 2 weeks it will have at least 17 to 24 to do. It takes literally forever and puts hours upon hours of use on my xbox.

Last week it had over 36 hours of updates to do.

I was thinking. Maybe people buy the games and leave terrible reviews of the game they bought and everyone else too. Then, maybe the game developers look at that and ever so often release bug fixes and that is what a game update is for?

I tried asking microsoft about it and got nowhere except the runaround.

I would like to hear from a few people at least if I could so I can see if you all think the same.

What do you think it is?

Thanks ragheads

@ragheads: You posted this in the wrong thread, so I move it to its correct forum: Xbox Association.

Turn on auto update and all that is done when you sleep your console? But damn, those are some ps3 update times. I’ve never heard about this with Xbox consoles.

What is your Internet speed? 20 x 100gb is 2tb....theres no game anywhere that is 2tb. Anecdotal, but updates on my x1x are substantially faster than on my ps4....and in your case, there's deffo something wrong.

@ragheads: Umm, they’re updates? Like bug fixes, extra content, or X enhancements. They do state what they’re updating while it’s updating.

I want to do 2 major upgrades to my Xbox One X and I am looking for recent information and guides to use.

  1. I want to install an internal SSD and would like to do so without cloning the proprietary drive.
  2. I want to replace the CPU thermal paste and the VRAM cooling pads.

My goal is to both increase the cooling efficiency and the overall speed/reduce loading times.
