hey guys might sound like a dumb question but this is annoying me. I bought the xbox 360 elite today (yes yes i made the move from plastation) as soon as i took it out of the box i was in shock tho it only has 105 gig on the hdd! is this normal? the game demos only take up 1gig!! so where the hell has my 14 gig gone 2? there is nothing else on the drive! anyone else have this or is there a mistake with mine?

Thanks for your time.

..and formatted space is not the same as the advertised raw space. This is a long standing issue with HDD manufacturers. When you buy a 250GB HD and format it for use, you will go down about 237GB or so.

yes, this is completely normal as aforementioned...you can erase all the preloaded demos and videos and will still not add up the 120gigs you were hoping for. Reason for this, the system ops are taking up the rest of the space. oh, if you have music saved as well but it doesn't display how much storage space you are using for it.

Some of that memory is Halo videos and other data. Look at your memory and delete some of that info, if you would like more free space.
