They come out spinning? Better replace the dvd drive before it scratches your discs.

The disc spins inside the xbox allright, but if its STILL spinning when opened and makes wierd noises while inside, something is defeniatly wrong.

Dunno, but they replace the consoles with RRoD, so there is a chance. If not, then you could somehow make your xbox RRoD so you can get it replaced anyway :P Just aidea though....

I started noticing my xbox doing these loud tinkering noises, My disks come out still but they are always covered in surface sratches, nothing deep but still enough for gamestation to not give me a full refund. Xbox 360 have terrible disc drives, they are deepand this means the disks can rattle and scratch I hope the next generation of gaming fixes these issues.

ah true well i think i figured out the problem, my xbox was on a rattly desk and i looked up that if the console moves at all it can screw the disc drives up and i think thats whats been happenin to mine, so now ive moved it to a stable area, ( my right tower speaker) :D and there has been no trouble yet, what do u guys/girls think, hvae yas heard of that befor ?

Vibrations of the speaker could create problems in the 360. Thats just from my knowledge of building computers though.

dont know about the spinning but if its making noises like a chainsaw then the alignment is off. which pretty much means its broken. happened to me and i thought i could fix it myself by shaking the disk tray......ya didnt work out that well. i ended up just bying a new arcade and throwing my HD on it cause i was well past warranty time
