Honestly? I think the 360 official wired headsets were made with toilet paper and hope. because they die often. I've run through at least 3 of them. normal usage. they just die, bro. replace and call it a day.

The recent ones with dangling volume adjusters suck; why, oh why did they change the design?

Agreed. I'm about to go through my third one, too. Perhaps I should look into the wireless or another headset.

I still have to from '06 and they work real good. Sometimes they stop working, but unplugging them and plugging them in again and rejoining chat, etc. works.

take it back you are better off buying a wireless one cause they typically last longer.

The 360 headsets in general are pretty garbage. They break very easily.

i had trouble with both microsoft designs and finally tried this plantronics model and it is much nicer and has no parts that come off like the foam pieces. it is also 20 dollars but wired. im not a fan of the wireless earpieces.

I know. I've been through three of them since the beginning of 2007. I just don't like the design of the "new" one.
