Alrighty,

so

Last night, i turned on my 360 with my controller and waited till everything loaded. everything loaded successfully, profile and all, but my controller was low on battery, so i decided to switch controllers. i turned off the low bat controller, and turned on the brand new one. the controller indicated a player one light, but i could not control anything. so i decided to restart the console with my current controller. i went to manually turn off my console, so i pressed once, and the power light went off, but the player 1 light was still on and the console would not shut down. i pressed twice, and the console shut down.

I restarted the console only to be stuck on the logo screen for 5-10 minutes.

i waited the 5-10 minutes only to find out that all my profiles and stuff were gone. i tried recovering my gamertag only to figure out that there is no storage device detected.

I restarted again and waited and waited to find out that it loaded my profile, but if i pressed the guide button, it would freeze up.

i read up on the forums and tried to figure out wat was wrong, so i concluded to myself that it was a HDD error.

i restart the console without the HDD and everything loaded successfully, except no memory and profiles, etc.

Restart the console WITH the HDD only to be stuck at the logo screen once again.

so what i think in order to fiz this was to buy a new HDD, and to recover my gamertag, but i dont know if recovering my Gtag will restore all of my memory from the games that ive played, or just my achievments.

What do you guys think I should do? Should i go with the new HDD or call xbox support?

im just not sure if recovering my Gtag will restore my memory...

Thank you all for helping and taking the time to read! =D

No dude I don't think that Recovering you Gamertag will do anything for your game saves because that's all on the hardrive where as your gamertag is logged, therfore you can recover it. So I would call Microsoft and try to troubleshoot but if you have to get new HDD all you have to do is call Microsoft and request a Transfer Kit and then just transfer data like I had to, to the new HDD, but to me it sounds like it's about to go. So yea call Microsoft and troublshoot dude.

Hey Freakman i got another question for you,

when you had to transfer files from your old HDD to your new onem, was there a problem with your old one? like was it corrupted or something?

because if it was then that would kinda give me a happier state of mind when i do it lol =D

Sorry for the late post dude, but when I transfered my data I had no problem at all, depending on how much save data you have it will take a while, mine took an hour, but honestly you should have no problem at all. The only thing was that at the end of my transfer it said some little piece of data was corrupt, but I have all my saves, and all my download content, and everything else, so I'm not sure what exactly was corrupt, and I have yet to have any problems since, so nope you should be fine.
