microsoft dropped the price on the hd dvd add on for the 360 to 49.99. it comes with king kong (heard one comes with bourne but not sure) and 5 mail in rebate movies as well. Prices are going to drop on the movies. its better to get the add on instead paying 150 for a stand alone hd dvd player.

It is probably not smart to invest in a dead format now, even with the good deals.

the fact that you get 6 HD movies, a universal remote, and an external DVD drive you can hook up to your PC.

you can still use it as a DVD player... Lessens the strain on you're built in drive.

No matter how much it drops it is a waste of money to pay for a dead format.

omg. wouldnt you pay $50 for an external DVD drive? I sure would. the fact that its an HD-DVD player is, to me, just an "extra feature" i can use to watch my 6 free HD movies. dont just think of it as a 'dead format'. it still has great uses and is still a great deal for even a regular external DVD drive.
