Xbox 360 freezes up during Fable 2.

Well, right now I'm about 50-75% into the quest called 'Blind Date' which takes place in Brightwood or something like that.

Whenever I try to go to Brightwood, my Xbox 360 freezes up and I have to turn it off.

I'm wondering if when I Reformat my Xbox 360 memory, does it delete the game memory too or just the updates from Live?
