yep and yep. I'm more of a single player kind of guy. prefered multiplayer in the lounge with beers and FRIENDS.
Live is just an added bonus for me. Most of the games I have are single player only or have solid single player.
Live Silver is good enough for me. As long as I am able to download Marketplace arcade games, then it is all I need.
At bare minimum I'd set silver up for DLC etc. To be honest the times when I most enjoy online play is when I'm playing in games with friends I have out of games too. So I could probably do without it, considering the game is always better offline split screen with a few brewskies.
^^This, plus the only games to really play online seem to be shooters and I suck at themAt bare minimum I'd set silver up for DLC etc. To be honest the times when I most enjoy online play is when I'm playing in games with friends I have out of games too. I think as long as I could get DLC, I could survive. I don't think the gaming world is anywhere near being online dependent yet, or will be soon.
I prefer live - it's easier to get together with friends especially those at different universities. I go to college in Georgia and it's hard for me to invite my friend who schools in North Carolina to come over and play Halo, lol.
Yes I would. I bought my 360 without live on release, I didn't get live until about a year after I bought my 360. I didn't have live on my original xbox either. Having read the replies above, while I agree live does add a new greatelement to gaming it's kind of sad that great sp games are getting put towards the back. Developers are pushing now towards multiplayer and forgetting the sp element and the story. Having played sp games most of my gaming life I still think the story element of a game is where it's heart is and this is being slowly lost.
i've had an xbox since 2006...
and i've been on live only since december of last year...so yeah i was basically good.
just as long as i could download my tv shows and my arcade games on silver, im fine
Are you serious about that 95%??? On average i'd have to say that games are 40% multiplayer, exempting games such as cod where multiplayer was equal to the sp. Most games focus on singleplayer and put multiplayer in because of demand for it or as a side project with extra time.No. What would be the point? You'll be missing out on 95% of the game for 5 dollars less a month.

Didn't buy Live right away cause there wasn't an online multiplayer out that interest me at the time. So to answer the question yes.
yeah I would, I bought my 360last may and didnt get live until this january. (I had a wired connection for a little bit but it was too slow to be worth it.)
yes, i wouldn't sell my xbox if XBL suddenly didnt work..... But im a '1-player-game' kinda guy. I dont play many online games.
I do like downloading game demos and video clips (free stuff), so XBL is like a bonus for me. but w/o XBL, the 360 would not be nearly as popular. Online mode for games like COD4, Halo3, Burnout Paradise, etc give the games a ton of replay value for most people.
I have a Live Silver membership and I'm content with it, and I think that at a minimum you must have access to Live so you can get all the cool downloads, even if you don't play online. I'm gonna go Gold for FFXI soon but I still don't like the fact that 360 gamers must pay for Gold and online gameplay, whereas PS3 gamers don't.
