Yeah, this has almost nothing to do with the 360 but I have a very important question. How do I apply to work at Gamestop? I plan on getting a summer job in 2008. So can someone help from step one, like asking to get the job or something?

Oh and do they allow a guy to have long hair??? I have hair a few inches past my shoulders and I'm guessing that the manager might make me cut it before i work there. But my friends tell me everyone there is cool cuz we're all gamers but iono. This will be my first job so i'm nervous.

Another question is do they look at ur school grades?? I'm a junior in highschool right now, and have pretty below average grades. And yes, another godamm question, so how good is the pay??? I wanna get a job just so that I can buy games and fully enjoy the current gen games.

Thanks in advance.

So are you in Gr.10 then? (where I live we don't say those lol we just say our grade) I don't think they hire anyone under 18, but there's no harm in applying. You make up a resume and drop it off at the store you want to work at, if they have applications fill one of those out and staple your resume to the back. The hair shouldn't be a problem but you have to remember your working with customers so you have to be presentable, so don't be looking like a caveman. They won't look at your grades, but they might be curious as to how you do in Math. Pay differs store-to-store. I'd say at your age you'll be better off applying at a fast food place

Well first step to getting a job is to go down to the store and ask for an application. And you're a junior and this is your first job? Wow, I started working the summer before 8th grade.

if he is a junior in HS than chances are he is 16..but to give some advice..dont work at gamestop. find a job thats more flexible with your hours, and if your grades are bad then handling midnight game releases isnt going to help the situation. find a job at a restaurant ora grocery store

I'm almost positive that if you want to apply to work there, you should be able to get an application at the store. I don't think they would go as far as to look at your grades, etc.

Just go to a store and ask for an application.. and I don't think hair would be an issue.. I know somebody who is 16 now and works at a gamestop.. but he gets paid minimum wage, which here in KY it's $5.85.. If you know somebody who works there and you're cool with them, and if they put in a good word for you you might get a job.. Good luck..

I'd either forget working at GS until you leave school (If you really have to, but you won't want to once you start, it might seem like a fun job, but it's dull and depressing) and/or get a better job that pays better and has a nicer environment.

They pay crap. Usually minimum wage. Go work at a store like best buy or something.

Step 1: Go to the store's website.

Step 2: Find the link that says careers on bottom of the page.

Step 3: Find the application.

Step 4: Fill our the application.

sorry for the double post.. do NOT work at McDonald's.. i worked at one for like 5 mos. and it sucked.. you'll get minimum wage and you will have to work horrible hours.. for example one saturday i worked 3pm to 11pm and I had to work the next day starting at 8AM.. do not work there.. you will definitely have to cut your hair and you can't have facial hair(which i was definietly against) and I'm 16 too by the way.. but do not work there..

It all depends on the location and management. There's a McDonalds in Nisku out here where you start at $11.50 and the min.wage is $7 If you have long hair you just have to tie it back and put a hair net on

where's Nisku? anyway.. at the one I worked at we were always busy.. we brought in a lot of money and everyday after school.. the HS where I go to was right by the McD's where I worked and a lot of people went there and we got a lot of money, and everybody was supposed to get a raise beginning of October and about half the people didn't and quit(including me)..

It's south of Edmonton, Alberta. It's surrounded by oil rigs and truck stops so it does some good business but they used to have trouble getting employees because no one actually lives in Nisku lol, so their employess are either from Beaumont or Leduc, both are 10 mins. away from Nisku and now they have no troubles getting employees with how high they pay

First, just because only "gamers" work there doesn't mean that you have permission to look like trash. I really can't name a place outside of Hot Topic that accepts long hair and trashy clothes. I mean, if you are worried about the hair...cut it. If you are worried about your grades...study. It sounds like there is at least some sort of realization hitting you that the rebel lifestyle you are leading right now isn't the way to go in life...so start here. Cut the hair, get the job if that's what you want, and get studying in your free time. You've got your whole life to play videogames, but only 12 years to go to school, and then 4 more if your lucky to make something out of yourself.

You have to be 17 to work there.

Because M games are 17+, so you gotta be old enough to buy them.

Everybody there is a douche bag, hopefully your not.
