Hey I have a question about Xbox live that I can't figure out. I don't have a 360 but am planning on getting one on one condition. online is what I'm wanting. I know it has voice chat, it has little kids sometimes and I know lots of other things but one of my main concerns is connecting to online play. I heard that you can have your 360 hooked up with wireless signals to get online. But somebody at an EB said that I need to buy like a $100 wireless ray picking up thing to get the wireless rays, I have no way to get a chord from my tv to my computer and I'm not gonna spent a hundred bucks to get something to let me play online, I know I have the annual fee but I don't mind paying that but no with an extra hundred to haunt me. Does the elite give me the wireless ray thing, do I even need one? Thanks in advance for all ansers.

It is called the Wireless Network Adapter and you need it in order to play wirelessly unless you have a laptop. You could connect via Ethernet if your router is close enough. The $100 is not that much money for the freedom you'll get. If you have plenty of friends online it is DEFINATELY worth it. Just buy the regular instead of the elite and then get it.

You do NOTneed to buy the $100 adaptor. I had the same issue and felt the same way about spending that much money. I discovered that in order to have a wireless online connection with an Xbox 360 you do NOT need to buy the wireless online adaptor for the Xbox 360 ($100). All you need to do is to buy an "Xbox Wireless Adaptor" for the ORIGINAL Xbox. This is the only original Xbox accessory that is compatible with the Xbox 360. I use it myself and it works like a charm! I've got a great signal and never experience lag on my end. The only problem you might have is that you cannot find these adaptors in stores any longer. There are always a few on ebay. I bought mine on ebay for $35! That's a lot better than $100! Good luck!

Im also thinking about getting the wireless network adapter, but my doubt is if it will work(good connection, no lags) in a distance of 50 feet and with some walls in between, any help would be great.

for one it is called the wireless adapter, and you have to buy it or use the cord, and you have to have a wireless router for your computer to have the wireless adapter....microsoft should make a 360 with a wireless adapter in it .
