I was looking into picking up the wireless adapter for the 360 but wasn't sure how well it would work? The 360 would only be about 10 feet max from the modem but there will be a wall in between them. Any of you guys own one of these that can give me some insight?

It works great! My X360 is on a different floor from my router, and it works, great, very rarely is lag a problem for online gaming!

All you do is hook it up to one of your xbox's USB ports and connect in the network settings. mines about 50 feet and through SEVERAL walls and up a floor and works just fine.

Much better than having a switch or go wired through a routerI never have had much lag while online. Only if M$ was not cheap and built this into their system.

you need a wireless connection coming in from somewhere to use the adapter, just to make sure you know that. So you need a wireless router or your modem needs to be wireless, or you need an open wireless connection coming from your neighbors house, which will be slow.

It works well enough. But since switching to wireless from the network cable, I've noticed that more games are dropped, slower download speeds, etc. Plus the thing is freakin expensive.

I guess that would also depend on the speed of your net also. I noticed that having my laptop running off wireless it runs at 54kbps but when its plugged into the net it runs 100kbps. but then again wireless will work for the 360 regardless.

I would recomend just connecting your laptop to the xbox via ethernet cable then creating a network bridge on your laptop. So far this has worked great for my xbox, but the adapter probably works better, however this is much cheaper, especially considering an ethernet cable came with my xbox.

i finally bit the bullet and bought the stupid thing. got it for 74 bucks, so not as bad as 90-100, but that being said, its still overpriced.

The Microsoft wireless adapter for the 360 is arguably one of the better made such adapters that one could get, with the added benefit of being able to be configured from within the Xbox 360's menus and dashboard (pre and post-NXE). The biggest gripe, obviously, is price. I was just lucky that I was able to take advantage of some stackable discounts when I got mine. This allowed me to get one for my 360. I still think Microsoft should drop the price on it some, or possibly offer a revised 360 which has it integrated, like the Wii and PS3 do.

I didn't know until I got a 360 and didn't want to pay for the adapter so... I guess it's not that well known. and no problem.

i do not personally have one but from my experience with my friends xbox basically what everyone said it works great he has his xbox in his room on the 2nd floor and his router is in his basement and he never gets disconnected and if he does itsusuallycause his dog accidentally unplugged the router (actually has happened before lol) or because his provider is down all together
