So I've researched thisa bit and found no answers to help me. My BRAND NEW WIRED controller likes to randomly disconnect and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It does this like every minute or so. I had an old wireless controller it was happening with, thinking it was my controller, I bought this wired one and still have the problem. My xbox has been in the same location forever so it's not wifi interference or any of that junk people think. Only thing it can be is the Xbox itself. Anything I can apart and fix to this problem? I'm pretty close to just getting rid of the whole system anyway, so if there's no solution, i'll sell it

Mine does it too. Everytime you'd move the wire in a certain direction it would disconnect then reconnect instantenously. This would happen 4 or 5 times then need to be reconnected manually again.

Ended up just taping the wire to the back of the controller so it doesn't move.

Like a boss.

Controller Is Brand New, It Isn't The Controller.

this may sound like a silly thing to say, but sometimes things get overlooked... did you try plugging it into the other USB port?

Yeah, The Two In Front And The Rear One. Funny Because I Played For About An Hour Today And Had No Problems.

I had the same issue one day when I put new batteries into my controller. If you put AAs that are kinda loose it'll disconnect (used a cheap brad) but if you put some Duracells, they won't be loose and you should behind. This only helps if it's a battery issue though x)

Check out the Microsoft support site. This sounds like your problem. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/accessories/wireless-controller-disconnects-frequently-or-cannot-connect

If It Was Wireless, Maybe That Would Be Helpful.

If you have another USB device that is compatible with a 360 try plugging that in and see if it will disconnect. That will at least narrow it down.
