Yeah I'm curious to see if anyone out there wont be buying it? It sometimes feels like I'm the only person in the universe who has no interest in it. I've never been a fan of the CoD games as they're just not my type of shooter. So am I alone? Or are there more of you out there?
I wont be getting it. It's got a stupidly short single player mode and I dont bother playing COD online because of the majority of people who play it online are idiots. All I get is abuse.
That and the only pre-orders we've had here in the UK where I work has been made by chavs.

I probably won't be getting it, I got bored of COD4 and this game already seems to bore me, too many killstreak perks and ridiculous character perks(throwing knives?) . I will be getting this if spec ops is good, because that is at least a change.
I had planned on not getting it forever, but I changed my mind only recently. I need a military shooter for my Xbox 360 & Modern Warfare 2 will fill in until Bad Company 2 & the next Ghost Recon release in 2010. I will probably sell MW 2 late January early February to cover costs of other games.
I probably won't be getting it - at least until I can pick it up cheap and even then I'm probably give it a miss. I'm not a huge multiplayer fan so I want my games to have an involving and lengthy campaign/story which it certainly won't.
i think you should play cod 4 thaT will change your mind i wasnt into cod until i bought that game now i love it
i wasnt to big on cod world at war though...

Wrong, people not buying it don't like the COD formula and/or online multiplayer. I don't care much for the multiplayer myself compared to other games like Rainbow Six Vegas 2 & Bad Company.

Clearly I've hurt your feelings by saying I won't be buying MW2. I'm sorry not everyone in the world agrees with you. So you'd rather see endless threads praising the game, but when someone says they won't be buying it, you kick off?
I'm into FPS titles, but for some strange reason the Call of Duty games just don't float my boat.. But M.W gained my attention for a couple of minutes until I heard about the five hour main campaign.
that made me laugh. by "a bit" I hope you only mean like, 2-3 players. because CoD4 is still always in the #1 or #2 spot on Live. it's been a couple of years for that game and the online hasn't died down at all really.

lol i couldn't care less if you agreed with me or not. im just sick and tired of seeing these threads over and over and over and over and over and over ( you get the point). the threads like "who else can't wait for modern warfare 2" are equally annoying, but lately there have been alot more of this type of thread.

I had no idea there were others not picking this up!!! I skipped MW1, and this time it will probably be no different. Just stopped caring about the series after the first Call of Duty and it's expansion on the PC.

I "enjoyed" what I played of the first Modern Warfare, both single- and multi-player, but I wasn't overwhelmed.

No matter what, you're going to get people saying that there going to get it. Nothing you can do about it. But, I'm buying it. :D
I am not getting it. I never have liked COD games. Or any first person shooter that focus is on war between people.

I don't mean to be facetious, but are you including first-person shooters that focus on wars between humans and, say, aliens or monsters? Or is the shooting aspect not your thing? (I'm not trying to sound critical.) This makes me think of some games in the past, such as the Deus Ex titles, which weren't necessarily staged in a war. Per se. But there were "good guys" and "bad guys" (depending on your role-playing choices, including whether or not you preferred to avoid confrontation).
