i think the comparison is stupid they are very different style fps. people need to quit whining and just play the games they enjoy playing. their both great games and fun to play if you got the patience to play and get better.
I got your answer right here. People have been shooting at the same freakin' aliens for like 4 years now and have been wating 6 years to kill some terrorists in a FPS. That's why COD4 is such a big deal, I think it just hits close to home with a lot of people. Sure, we've had our splinter cells and ghost recon's, but no actual first person shooters. I don't think everyone will admit it, but it's the terrorists that make the game fun, just like it was the Nazis that make previous WWII games fun (COD123).
I think it's kind of stupid to compare them because they're so different from each other, but I do understand why it happens so often. They're the two best selling first person shooters of the year; in fact they're first and third best selling games of the year, period. Comparisons are bound to happen even though the only things they seem to have in common are the that you play from a first person point of view, and that you shoot dudes.

they are two very different genres of fps, cod4 is tactical, where as halo 3 is run and gun, as you have a shield possibly leading to unlimited health. You also don't die as easily in halo 3. Also obviously halo 3 is sci fi and cod4 is modern (thus modern combat). They shouldn't be classed in the same area.

Nope. One is good (CoD4), the other is not, and some people don't realize it because they've been caught up in the Halo hype machine. Their bubble needs to be burst ^_^ Now console vs console raging.... I don't go for that :P

Ummmm, yeah, it's pretty lame to fight over which game is better. Why do you care? If you like the game, what difference does it make if everyone else thinks "it's the best evar" or not?
It is silly completely due to the fact that the two games are barely alike.... They are two diffrent genres of first person shooters. Meaning they cant be really compared... Cept in numbers online halo has more people it always has atleat 300,000 at all times where cod 4 is only 80,000 at all times soo idk maybe more people like halo.... but i like both just the same
