Which Halo game is best???

Halo 1 started the series and was great, but Halo 3 beats it entirely. Halo 3 has a mix of Halo 1 and 2's weapons, and it has its own weapons; it also has added bonuses like bubble shields, power drains, mines, etc, not to mention tons of maps, 4player online co-op, and a decent ending. Halo 3, I feel, perfected the series, and did everything that everyone wanted in the two previous games.

I like Halo: Combat Evolved the best. LAN parties were so much fun with friends.

This guy is right but overall I have to say 3 is the best. If they remade Halo 1 with all the advancements of 3 like 4 person co-op, forge the theatre, online MP through xboxlive I would play the remake of thefirst one over the third.

I liked the campaign of Halo 3 more than both Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. I also prefer the MP of Halo 3. So my vote is for Halo 3.

I didn't play #2 at all so take my opinion with a grain of salt (although reading these posts makes me think I'm not missing a whole lot).

Have Halo for the PC - didn't really like it. It was short and relatively simple for a shooter on the PC. Not to say it isn't good,but standing up to the likes of Doom 3 and HL:2 -Halo falls well short. Don't even start the comparisons to strategic shooters such as R6 or Graw. Hell R6:Vegas was a better port than the first Halo.

For the record however, Halo was masterful in it's execution. As technically sound as they come, which says alot considering the developer (Bungie ie Microsoft).

Halo 3, I got with my 360 (Halosp. edition 360). From the get go it felt way more fleshed out than the 1st halo.Sure the graphics were better (360 vs Xbox) but the environmentsfelt more alive,I'd guessmore depth to the level design, part of why I thought the 1st halo felt small. The AI wassuperior and while just as linear as the 1st game, scripted sequences benefitted from the same attention to detail the environments do. The game felt much stronger via 360 controller than a mouse/keyboard combo I utilized in the 1st. Perhaps my amature play on the 360 added to Halo3's difficulty, which would explain the more satisfying experience.

Halo Wars demo didn't impress me. Not after CnC3, SupCom (FA)and Sins.And ofcourse, asI stated before, I never played the 2nd one, so I can't comment on the plots and storylines.

I say Halo 1, because it was something new and refreshing at the time. I had more fun on that one than I did on the other two. The 2nd one is my second favorite because it introduced great online play as far as being able to gather and group up in teams. Third, is alright..... I don't feel the urge or excitment to play it like I did the first one.

Halo 1 by far. Pistol scope = pwnage.

the first Halo it is the best hands down, sure the graphics arent as good as the others but everything else about the game they had perfect on try one halo 3 is good tooand i did like halo 2 but not asm uch as the others but either way halo 1 is the bomb!!! myfavoriteby far possibly on my top 10 games of all time list

I think they're all about equal.

I'd have to say Halo:CE. The first 5 missions were all fantastic and are still fun to play today, and it had the best soundtrack (The only songs I really enjoyed from 2 and 3 were ones recycled from CE).

I dont care for halo cuz I played halo 2 and it just missed halo up for me and 4 wat Im hearing yalll fans hate it too

Multiplayer: Hard to decide. 3 has the best gameplay with tons of weapons and vehicles, but I'm not a fan of equipment, and the maps aren't as good as 2's. To be honest, CE's would probablybe the best, but the lack of online makes it lose by default for me.

Overall, Halo 3.

i enjoyed the campaign for halo 1 more than halo 3, havent played halo 2

i like halo 3 most.

Singer Player: 2, 1, then 3 (yes Halo 3 has the Sh!ttiest singer player campaign)

Multiplayer: 3, 2, then 1 (but has the best multiplayer)

well i only have halo 2 but i played halo 3 at my cousins house and i heard halo 1 is pretty good so i'd say its a tie between Halo 2 and Halo 3

The third and first tie, the second was way over hyped and under done, but Halo is done they need to stop trying to make new Halos its just making it into a money pit instead of a genre gamers can truly love and remember

The first Halo's story is my favorite of the three, but Halo 3 is plenty fun for online.

Halo: CE. I remember getting my Xbox with it at launch. I had no expections whatsoever. I actually played Azurik first. :lol: Then I started playing Halo: CE... OMG! What a game!

Personally I like each Halo game the same for different reasons.

Halo: Combat Evolved: Hey, it's were we got started! When it came out it was the most revolutionary and innovative shooter of the time.

Halo 2: For its heavy focus on the story. We got to see deeper inside the Covenant government and theological system.

Halo 3: For continuing the series' amazing story and gameplay for the third time around. Plus all the new multiplayer modes and options, and the edition of the Forge system!

All in all I'd like to say that Halo has been an amazing, thrilling series of games that have always managed to be original and innovate, while not straying from what makes them so great.

I think its pretty accurate to say that games like CoD4 wouldn't be half as popular without their multiplayer parts. Saying they're 'nothing' without it is obviously just a purposeful exaggeration, but the point is valid.

Anyways, I think the first Halo had the biggest impact on me, being new and all, so I still get a warm, fuzzy feeling when I think about it or go back and play it.

But unlike most people, I think that Halo 2 had my favorite single-player component. I loved switching from the Arbiter's story and Master Chief's story. I also thought the levels were a bit more epic overall. And the gameplay was a bit more polished.

Halo 3 was a good game, but it kinda felt rehashed, or maybe the novelty of Halo just wore off by then.

Halo 3 is the best to date by a long shot. Though Halo 2 was really the beginning of Halo MP and holds great olf skool memories, Halo 3 has rewirtten what Halo 2 was with all the new features in it. Lets see how ODST fairs.

Completed Halo 1 and Halo 3, have only played a couple of multiplayer games with halo 2 never got in to it

A tie between Halo 3 and Halo on the PC (online matchmaking still running today). But if your looking to get a halo game just wait for Reach.

Halo 3 - Innovated what the last 2 games did and move . Forge , Theatre Mode Were awesome

Halo 2 - Brought Multiplayer to Halo And Stole hours of life

Halo 3 ODST - As much as people hated it i loved it Good Campaign, And Fire fight Was Fun Still love it . (Sucks it was 60 bucks only downfall)

And From the looks of It Reach Will take the Top spot On my list once its Released .
