yes i know connecting it straight to the modem is the best thing. the thing is, that's not an option for me. anyways, i'm using an airlink router and even though i can play online no matter what i do the nat always shows to be strict. i have to wait like 5 minutes in halo to get a possible match or wait like 5-7 in cod4.. plus i encounter problems joining some matches. also when i look for airlink routers and xbox live anything barely comes up. so today i'm going to head out to radioshack, best buy and other stores in order to buy a new one. which one do you guys recommend??

Try to get one recommended by microsoft, www.xbox.com has a thing somewhere that lists all recommended ones.

I move my 360 between houses, both have a dlink DIR-625. It's not 'recommended' but microsoft, but it works great. Might wanna check it out if you can't find a recommended one.

i saw a linksys router that came with speedbooster, it said 12x.. looked like the best one there is. it was priced at $170. is it worth it? i don't mind the price as long as it works. once again thanks a lot.

yeah they are the new linksys N routers, i say go for it, but double check and make sure if it will work normaly for the xbox live, but my best bet is go for the one i mentioned earlier, because it's 100% supported by live.

You just can't go wrong with Cisco (i.e. Linksys). I've had the WRT54GS v.2 for many months, and it's great. If you're planning to go wireless, note that the MS Wireless adapter currently only supports b/g/a standards, not N. There may be one in the future, however.

If you haven't already gone out and bought one...check out D-links New range booster ones, i have a DIR-625...I'm sure there are better and newer ones out there....i bought it like a 8 months ago and it hasn't been turned off once since then! Live always works and I host with Wireless and no problems...mind out I do have an Extreme service with my cable internet provider.
