If Kinect brakes what happens to your X1?. I haven't found any place where you can buy Kinect sensor on it own. What can you do if it brakes after warranty and can you claim if it brakes be for the end of the warranty?.

No mine has not broken just wondering plus it not even here yet but have bought an X1 and hopefully be here be for Christmas not broken by the delivery people playing foot ball or rugby with it. :D

I imagine you would have to go through ms. It comes with every system so there is no need to sell it seperately. If mine broke somehow I'd goto a MS store.

In answer to your question, "If Kinect breaks, what happens to your X1?", Kinect is not required for the system to function. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether or not Kinect is required for the initial setup of the system.

There are going to be people like this guy,who dont use Kinect.Should be no trouble to find someone selling theirs. It was a good question though,Im sure after supply can keep up with demand you will be able to buy them alone.

Of all the components, the Kinect should be the least likely to have anything happen. It's pretty much all fixed in place hardware. There's no spinning drive like in the console and no endlessly punished ball-and-socket joints or buttons like a controller. It's a camera and microphone that just sits there.

If the Kinect brakes it will come to a screeching stop.

In all seriousness you contact Microsoft. Or try your luck on ebay as someone might be selling their own.

I say disconnect the brakes and you don't have to worry about it. If it breaks...on the other hand...disconnect the whole thing.

@skipper847: You mean as it's approaching a tight turn ? .....just kidding man. I think you can send the Kinect in for replacement if it's still within the warranty, but I'm not sure. Best bet is to check on the official X1 website.
