I have absolutely no idea how GTA4 or Mass effect can get best ending...GTA4 ending is basically crime doesn't pay and Mass Effect...your a hero...wooh! thats new! I can't think of the best one right now but yeh Halo 3 still has people confused about what that planet in the end was...so yeh possible best end.

GTA IV ending is not crime doesn't play, have you even played it, because thats the furthest statement from the truth.
Well the best ending is all a matter of perception and what the player generally desires whether it be benevolent or malicious. Emotional ending...xbox only...GTA IV is very good in that regard, the Darkness as well. Story telling ending...DOA IV, Mass Effect (kind of)... Weaker endings...Halo 3, Fallout 3, ES IV, Ninja Gaiden II I own and enjoy these games but the endings were never as important as the experience gained during the game. Weird endings...FEAR 2, ...yeah...didn't see that one coming.

The crime world is filled with losses and deaths everyday just like this game, Niko is contract killer, meaning crime pays especially for him. I doubt you played this game you would know what I'm saying is a legit fact.
