I hope it'll be faaar far away from now, the power of the console doesn't really leave much to wish for, I hate when as soon as a new console comes ou there are ppl asking about the next one. Anyway It's been a while so I'll just answer, I hope they don't make the next one like they make most modern equipment, they build it so it will break, so you'll have to replace them, however the rrod has cost ms alot more than expected so I guess they'd have to learn. A machine that includes everything you need and not this "buy it after" BS, that and it should function properly for at least 10 years.
well first FREE XBOX LIVE!!!!! then i have no idea what this is called but instead of the cd tray have a sucky thing like on the wii maybe smaller size less over heating less RROD and hardware failure

A whole new gaming experience. Sure this gen was great as far as way better graphics are concerned. And it also cemented Xbox Live as a successful necessity in gaming. The console saw things this gen that were previously only obtainable on PC. Now, it's time to expand the interactivity of the console's "operating system" so to speak, add a web browser, and max out the internal hardware. Also, I would love to see something like the following link implemented into the next gen control scheme (as well as the awesome depth added to the display). When it came to gameplay this gen, it felt too much like last gen with something prettier to look at (though the games have been way better this gen).
better design(rrod)... hopefully it not being rushed... LESS NOISE, LESS HEAT, BUILT IN WIFI ADAPTER & built in Blu-Ray player... not that ill need it...since i already got a br player... but still... oh and a browser..and lastly this will not happen but free online
Should have like Tivo, TV on demand(that's free), a HD movie player, huge hard drive, and a graphics card that revolves around physics, cuz games are not going to get better unless the physics in them does.
No more RROD, not to come out for a LONG time from now, it have the capability to actually play blueray or hddvd movies and not have to buy that extra player, free xbox live, better CPU no more of that freezing crap like on games like Oblivion, just an all around improvement from the 360 I mean it's sad, the 360 has more issues than the regular xbox
