If I'm not mistaken, its called the 360 because its only M$ second cosole as appose to Sony who was launching its third. Noobs might go out to buy their first console and if they saw Xbox 2 and PS3 they would go for the PS3 thinking it was newer.
I agree it's probably going to be XBox 720, so or XBox 2011 or something like that because they've established themselves in the console market. It's time to start giving version numbers to them.
It's 360 because it gives you a complete entertainment experience (movies, music, games, shows, online). Also Xbox 2 is boring. And the next xbox will be the Xbox Infinity, lol.
wow people learn what your talking about microsoft wanted to call the xbox, xbox: revolution, the nintendo came along and stole the name nintendo revolution if you don't remember. they ended up changing it to Wii for some god awful reason and microsoft wanted the same basic name so they called it a 360 which is a full revolution so there it will not be called xbox 361 or 720 because that wont make sense. it was also known as project xenon so they can call it that for all i care
I could only hope that it will be called the XBILL 360 it will be the most advanced gaming system.The console will be one livesize Bill Gates robot with resolutions up to 9000x8600 with framerates never dropping below 500fps!!!!! He can be you best friend,butler,and...uhm.......(cough)lover.........oh and say goodbye to tvs the XBILL 360s eyes come equipped with projectors!
They are going to remove XBOX from the name completely and call it Windows Media Center: Gamer Edition and try to shove more proprietary software down our throats. It will probably have its own screen too and look like that tabletop PC that hasn't made it to production yet. The ideas are endless!
