ut3 better than gears?

I just got done playing about an hour of Unreal Championship 2 and realized again how much this series ROCKS. That game is more fun than just about every shooter in my 360 library.

Even though I love Shadowrun, anyone who thinks the magic & tech thing is innovative haven't played or forgot that Unreal Championship 2 was chock full of magic & tech, as well as choosing your weapon at the beginning of each match.

Maybe my favorite Third/First person shooter ever.

Unreal 3 is going to own everything.

but the gameplay of UT2k4 (predecessor of UT3) and UC2 are pretty different from what i remember. i don't think you really can compare the two.

Not a difficult feat from my perspective, but I hope so.

It'll have better mutlti-player, since the whole game is built with multi-player in mind. It'll also be better looking.

But since I'm more a single-player, I have to say Gears will be better. But if you love multi-player UT3 will make Gears, Halo, whatever FPS out there play like Sh!t.

yeah it definently will be better gears was pretty fun with friends but you dont havce to be good at it you can just run and not aim while ut3 will require alot of skills

I really liked Gears game dynamics and the multi was fun but in terms of multiplayer i think UT3 will be a lot better. Gears maps were relatively small. They were good sized maps but not massive. UT3 has insanely large maps from what i understand. I hope they live up to the insanity they are trying to hype for the scale. I remember seeing a screen shot where the 2 fighter jets are flying through some temple like area and you can see way off into the distance and cliffy i think it was said that the entire area was playable even off into the distance.

The scale and craziness that you get in UT i think will be why UT3 > Gears for multiplayer at least

They're completely different types of games. The major similarities are the utilization of the latest unreal engine and that you shoot stuff....oh, and they're made by the same developer

GoW - 3rd person, cover system etc...

UT3 - 1st person, no cover system, REALLY fast paced, etc...

In the end, the gameplay of UT3 type games suits my preferences more, so I'll probably end up enjoying UT3 more than GoW, though

It's personal opinion on whether it will or will not be better. Not the definitive yes hands down this beats that.

Based on gameplay design and styles between the two it's possible to give a fairly educated guess. There is also a fair bit of news as to what will be in the game.

yeah itll be really good itll probably be better than gears but gears is still great. from my point of view games should constantly be getting better so in theory i would hope ut3 is better. nothingwill ever blow gears out of the water, just like nothingwill ever blow goldeneye or super mario 64 out of the water. get what im sayin?

Ill say no for now but my answer might change later :)

so youve gotstories and pictures and youre going tocompare one game thats been out for months to one that youve never touched. the only real guess that can be made is that unreal is a great franchise and i wouldn't expect anything other than perfection in their next gen release.

Ya i expect a great game. But to give a general thought as to which might be better you can take what they are putting into the game, what the prior ones are like and guess as to how this will compare to gears and others. It's like most other tried and true games. You don't have to play halo3 multi to have an idea how it will play compared to prior years. There will be changes but in general core design is the same. UT3 should be like an awesome looking UT2k4 on a huge scale. How does that compare to gears...i think probably crazier. I do like gears online but can't help but think ut will out shine it

Yes of course UT3 will be better then GoW. Reason being is that there are a lot of games are better then Gears and Unreal Tournament has been around for ages and is always a fun fast paced FPS that never gets old. It's timeless.
