Well im soon getting the 360 elite console, the main reason is because of xbox live. Now i have a wireless network does this mean i will need to buy the adaptor. It isnt bad if i do its just i dont really want to waste £60 on something i might not need.

if ur able to run a either cable to the xbox then u dont need to buy it. but if u want to keep it wireless then yes your going to hae to spend the money

i would advise running a cable apparently its more reliable andyou spend the adaptor money on games

You could probably save money by buying a seperate wireless router and a short ethernet cable to use instead of Microsoft's wireless network adapter.

You might as well just get the 360 network adapter, its really good, Its worked like a charm for me, Its belt for speed, and I never have any problems with it, I always have 5 bars.
