Ok, so I started this thread which I'm sure will be filling up with horror stories of those with broken Les Paul's. A brief summary of my horror story:

Bought 1st GH3 bundle at Best Buy earlier today - Broken green fret. Every once in a great while it would work for a split second. Every other button/fret works perfectly fine.

Returned the bundle at the same Best Buy for a BRAND NEW bundle - Broken blue fret. NO JOKE. Same thing as the green fret - wouldn't work, except every once in a great while. Once again, every other button/fret works fine.

At this point, I'm beyond frustrated/annoyed/tired. To make matters worse, my local Best Buy is about 30 minutes away, so I've burned a considerable amount of gas to add to my increasing stress and dissapointment levels. Sucks.

Please document all your Les Paul problems/issues/glitches/frustrations here!

This makes no sense.

Keep exchangeing via the retailer until you get a working unit.

If after 5 or so attempts. I would demand a refund.

Rockstar needs to order an immediete recall and applogize to its community immedietely.

Good luck to you.

I called Microsoft about this problem and they told me....durka durka guitar hero allah....

I hung up and called back, but some wacko named Max answered and kept asking me the same question over and over.

I finally hung up and took the guitar and smashed it over the xbox until I got 3ROD.

Thanks. Apparently you didn't read my original post and/or somehow can't relate to the frustration of spending $100 on 2 broken products and driving near 80 miles in combined trips back and forth from Best Buy in hopes of getting a functioning product.

Thanks for your contribution to the thread!!!!

Suck it up and get another one. What are you going to do? Keep crying? Might as well if you aren't going to be satisfied. Blah blah, whatever, no I do not care for your plight, because crap happens. No one is going to fix or pay for your guitar. Even if they released defective notice. So keep crying, or go back and get another one to play the dang game.

If you are driving so far you should ask if you can test it out on the 360 they have in-store. I'm sure they would let you, if not request a refund and go elsewhere.

I got worried when I first started playing as the green fret would short out at certain times. I then ejected the neck and reattached it and it worked fine. I think there may just be issues with the connection between the body and neck on some of the units. at least I can talk to people on XBL unlike the xplorer with a crap headset port.

Crying???

So the fact that I received a broken $100 product TWICE doesn't justify me posting thread about it and venting my dissatisfaction with the poor quality of the product? Seriously?

I love how when problems/issues don't affect certain indivuduals all of a sudden the problem is non-existent and those that are unhappy are "whiners" and "complainers." If you're not going to add to the thread, why post?

And yes, I know stuff happens - I am merely providing a main thread to those who HAVE experienced problems/broken guitars. This isn't a "omgzzz teh gh3 les paulzz is teh suXorzzz!!!11one" thread, am I? No, this is a thread for those that have guitar PROBLEMS.

As a matter of fact, I think the GH3 controller is the best guitar controller I have played with yet - it just so happens that I've received two broken guitars, hence my frustration.

And if you had read my post, I already returned my first broken guitar, only to receive yet another broken guitar - so don't tell me to "suck it up and get another one."

Mine doesn't seem to have any problems. Aside from the fact that my 360 can't play it without crashing, my game works perfectly.

I think you may be onto something here. I always thought the whole idea of the connection between the neck and the body seemed a little...sketchy. I tried this, but my blue fret is still no-go :( Darn.

I had the same problem at first but I just took off the neck and put it back on a couple of times and now it works like a charm. I'm sure it's just a connection issue with the guitar and the base. Nothing you have to return it for.

Yeah, same with me.

Except my 360 is currently on a time-frame, due to the RRoD.

Is it the game disc, or is it just that my 360 is mentally challenged and needs a kick somehwere?

I've concluded that this problem definitely stems from a connection issue between the neck and the base.

While trying to get the guitar to work, I noticed that when you "snap" the neck in, it holds in place in a relaxed position. This is when the problems occur.

So, I forced the neck down and pressed and held it down as far as it could go, so it was basically flush and held togetherin a non-relaxed position. What I noticed was that the previously broken fret would work more frequently, and almost normally. It would still "miss" pretty often, but at least it would respond. Hmmm...weird.

I have GH3 for PS2 and periodically my guitar stops working. I found out that you have to detach the neck and blow on both points to get it to work again. Have you tried this? While it does work it is alltogether irritating that were back in the day of blowing on things to get them working but it might be a quick fix.

Do you people even bother inspecting anything before you decide it is broken? My green fret didnt work AT ALL, but before I drove back, I took a look at the connectors, and sure enough, there was glue covering the connectors on the neck portion. I scratched it off, and now it works fine. More than likely just overflow from what they used to connect the chip to the neck.

OH NOEZ MY CAR DOESN'T WORK GIMME A NEW ONE!

I had an issue with the first one I picked up too. It didn't come with a battery cover. Not really that big of a deal but it did kinda piss me off. I was able to return it to Best Buy, and get a new one, since then I have been having a blast. The boss battles are killer.

My strum bar broke 3 days after I got it... Whenever I hit it to strum once, it strums like 4-5 times.

I went yesterday to exchange it, but they didnt have any 360 versions left so they let me get my money back. Ill probably use it for Assassins Creed and save the rest for the future games.

my whammy bar worked for like 20 minutes then completely stopped. this is my first GH game and i am extremely pissed that the whammy bar doesnt work especially when its crucial in the battle modes.  anybody have any solutions other than reconnecting the neck cuz ive done that 1000 times to no avail...
