The Next GTA is roumored to be a MMO!!!!

Itll be a big city where every one has the option to do anything that they want to. You can either pick sides with the police o street city gangs! THIS will be the GREATEST GTA! YET! I hope this roumor is true!!!!!!!!!!

i hate to sound new or something but what is a MMO? is that like how warcraft is and their are millions of people in a world all at once....so basically would this mean thier would be no pedestrians in the game just all people online running aroundearnhardtfan77

if it were an mmo, they would probaly break the it all down into tons of different citys, so there wouldnt be a million people in same one, and still have some npcs so its not all player characters.Twisted-Ice-God

Nah they would just have worlds, if you've ever played Runescape there is the same world and everything is exactly in the same place except there is about 150 diffrent world with like 2k max people. That's how they would probably do it

This is exactly what Rockstar said.

This all comes from the interview in the new EGM where they discuss the concept a few times. The above quote is true... they do say that it is very doable and something they would really like to do. They seem like they really want to look into the idea and the article reads like it's something that they may be planning on trying out...

BUT

They also say the above. The main problem with a GTA MMO would be that the game would be complete chaos... jsut a million people running around with rocket launchers blowing each other up constantly, and there wouldn't be any fun in that. So that's the challenge, to do it in a way that people have to interact and want to interact without the game being pure chaos. Will it ever happen? I have no idea, but I think it's something R* will definitely be putting some thought and time into exploring.
