Sound stopped working

So my sound stopped working.

I'm using the component cable that I got with the 360 when I bought it back in '06.

It's hooked up to a full hd samsung lcd, a pretty good one (cant remember its factory name).

My ps3 is working with sound, as does the sound when I watch regular television.

I've checked the mute button!

The 360 used to work like normal. I haven't touch it because of school and work (around 3 months).

Hrm.. what else.. well cant think of anything else but I hope that someone knows what might be wrong with it.

Sounds like you need to buy new component cables. Oh well, they're not that expensive.
