i have never ever been a fan of fighting games...ok mortal combat, but only because of the cool fatalities and what not you could perform at the end of your match (i know that sounds a bit childish) but normal fighting games without all the blood and gore just have never ever grabbed my attention....

but for some reason after hearing about soul calibur IV, seeing some screens, and checking out the release date i am beyond pumped for the release of this game...i played the dreamcast one for a bit and got bored but other than that i've never really played a soul calibur game and have no idea what is so appealing about this game to me

...anyone else have this strange reaction?...and to all you soul calibur fans feed my anticipation and tell me how amazing the game is because i feel like i've been missing out

I never buy those kinds of games but it interests me. I'll be getting it since it has weapons and i played another version of it i forgot which one though. The game's extremely fun and i loved every minute of it!

Fighting games have very little lasting appeal for me, but this one is interesting due mainly to Darth Vader(PS3) and Yoda(Xbox 360) being playable characters.

I wonder if vader will become DLC for the xbox 360 vice versa for Yoda on the ps3.

That's extremely irritating, because as a fan of the original trilogy I'd like to play as both, but I can't because Namco have struck exclusive character deals again.....I'm a Soul Blade/Caliber fan, but I'm not buying two copies to play as both. Looks like I'll be going with Vader.

Namco said that it was possible and i wouldn't be surprised if they did release them as DLC

I usually never really go for fighting games at all. They just don't have enough replay value for me to consider spending $60 on one. However, I might have to pick this one up. I have always been a Soul Calibur fan ever since I played the one on Dreamcast (I think it was II). That was the best fighting game I have ever played and I hope this one will be on par.

I loved Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, but I've lost any interest in fighting games. The last one I played was DoA for the original Xbox. So there's really no reason for me to buy it. Not even Yoda. :P

Can not wait for this. I am so excited that Yoda and Darth Vader are on it. THough it is disapointing that they are on seperate systems.

ya i'm definitely going to check it out...i'll have my ps3 by then as well so its going to be a tough call to see if i want to go with yoda or vader....i feel like the ps3 dpad might be a little easier to play with so i might lean towards that way

i dont like fighting games at all, and this one doesn't look like it's going to change me, so i probably wont get it.
i got soul calibur 3 for the gamecube and i hated it with a passion and felt bad my mom paid $50 for it
fighting games are just so dull. (except Smash Bros. of course)

Because of the 3d nature of the game I always found it easier to use the analog sticks... is that totally lame?! I think it's because it's more of combo stringing style of fighter as opposed to a pull of a special move with the dpad fighter... I never was really that good though... epiphany? perhaps.

All his years he looked away into the future. Never his mind on where he was! Hmm! What he was doing! Adventure! Heh! Excitement! Heh! A Jedi craves not these things! You all are reckless!

The only fighting games I liked are the Smash Bros. ones and Mortal Kombat.
