When your playing off a disk the fans run faster that off the HDD, but arent the fans just cooling the hardware running the game and not the disk drive.

so when a games being played off the HDD the fans run slower but the overall performance on hardwares the same, so in affect your more likely to overheat when running off the HDD right ?

The overall performance is not the same when run off the HDD. Running off the HDD cause less strain causing the fans to not have to work as hard.
