Some cool overlooked fun games

I usually dont delve too much into what i play. I basically just have skyrim and nba2k12 right now that i play every so often. But there are all these arcade titles and games that id ont really know if they are worth it or not. I just want a good fun game. Skyrim can be a bit much sometimes. I like adventure games. I played la noire a while ago and saw its on live now. Was thinking of dloading it but not sure. It wasnt that great? I basically havent had live connected in like 6 months and there are a good amount of games up now i havent checked out. I end up going by reviews and whats popular when thats not who i really am. Some games ive played ive never heard of that end up being pretty good.

Any suggestions? I was thinking of dloading nfl blitz. But its easports and they tend to cheese games quite a bit. Games have become too much about who can overwhelm you with so much stuff and hype when i think its kind of ruined gaming a bit. Great technical achievements sure. But as far as games meh. It's like lebron james. If i wanted to build a protypical athlete sure but he lacks something. I'm a celtics fan and paul pierce is a much better human being and basketball player but thats just me.

I tend to like adventure games and sports games but i like everything if its good. I was even thinking of dloading hitman blood money. never played that one.

Shadow Complex is a really good xbox live arcade game in the style of metroid/castlevania. Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie were two of my favorite games on N64 and are both on the XBLA. NBA Jam on fire edition is a ton of fun, especially if you have some friends to play with. Bastion was a very good action/adventure game. Super Meat Boy is an amazing platformer. And for one more recommendation, Tales of Vesperia is probably my favorite game of this current console generation and you can get it for $30 on the marketplace. Although I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't into jrpg's.

If you want to kick back and relax, get Left 4 Dead 2.

Crysis 1 is fun.

Red Faction/Guerilla or RF/Armageddon, sadly this franchise is finished. If you're looking to save some dollars, then get The Orange Box (5 games in 1), i got it last year for $28, an absolute bargain.

That's $2.40 per game (in my case, in your case it would be $5.60 per game), and all are amazing games.

Kayne and lynch 2 is a pretty good game, its very fun when playing co-op with a friend.

Smackdown VS Raw 2011 is good game to play with friends. Pretty cheap now.

Mirrors Edge, action, adventure, and pretty cool artstyle + gameplay.

Tomb raider underworld, legend and anniversairy. Older games but extremely cheap now + lenghty campaigns full of adventure.

Fable 2: the game will zip you into it :P.

I have to vote for the original Alan Wake. Apparently it was overlooked by just about everyone considering just how badly the game undersold. (despite fairly positive review scores from both players and critics alike) The only real issue i took with the game was poor pacing, but if you play the game it sort of is excused by the story telling being the cause for the pacing.

Hopefully with American Nightmare out now some people may get interested in a criminally overlooked title. (though from what i have seen so far American Nightmare does truly come off as an xbox arcade game and doesnt feel as fleshed out so far as the original. )

Beyond Good and Evil is an excellent Zelda style adventure game on XBLA for only 800 MS points, I do believe.

Wow, thank you very much. You totally reminded me I need to buy that game because last Christmas I bought all of the DLC for it on sale but I do not even have the game yet.
