When can I remove Kinect from my Xbox One?

I will put it back in the box and never touch it again!

Glad they are giving you the choice to use it or not.

You can do it right now, I know of a few people who currently don't use their Kinect. As for me I like it's voice-commands so it's staying.

Don't touch it ! Kinect doesn't deserve to go to prison.

I like Kinect and it has potential to do many awesome things and many ways to change the gaming experience from being " just holding a controller " . I love to have it with my xbox one

I unplugged mine. It was announced you can unplug it right before they sold it. That was one of the famous 180s they made.

That is also why a Kinectless Xbone is possible.

Great, I'm pulling it out right now! Waste of money, they should have sold Xbox One without Kinect to start with!

You should be able to sell it now for a decent price, but I'd wait till they announce the standalone unit. It will probably sell for $150 to discourage people from waiting to buy it later.

Personally, I love it - just not for gaming. It's great when searching for a particular film, website, song or whatever. And being able to pause a TV show when I'm cooking or the phone rings is nice too.

Yeah good thinking, I could recover some money if I sell it, but I'll have to wait a few months until the stand alone xbox one is out so people will actually want to buy it.

So they should have done what Sony did and not make a Camera. LOL

I do the same things when the phone rings or I'm cooking, but I just hit the pause button on the Bluetooth remote on my various players. With my 7.1 loud sound, the Xbone doesn't always pick up my voice anyways so I end up fumbling for an Xbone controller to pause it.

At least MS didn't make a part of their controller for their Camera. The Lightbar on the PS4 controller was made for their Camera before announcing a VR headset.

I guess? At least they didn't, right? While we are at it, I want to point out that at least Betty Crocker didn't make my car? I'm happy that Hasbro didn't design my swimming pool and I'm glad that at least Marvel comics didn't design my smartphone.

I have no idea what you are going on about mate, I never brought up any companies at all including Sony but I'm happy for you. This is the Xbox forums so I was talking Xbox in this thread. Them Sony guys making cameras and lightbars and VR headsets seem like something you looked up and enjoy reading a lot about. Good on you. :)
