I'd like to see a handheld from MS but like you said, Ninty and Sony are making a lot of money out of the market. How the hell could MS possibly force their way into that market without being trounced?

There is defiantly room in the market to move into it. Honestly I think it's better if they just focus on the 360. Microsoft is matching Sony pretty well. They should just keep hammering away at this part of the market.

A handheld with dual analogue control would be amazing. You can't play a third/first person shooter without decent camera control. Sort this problem out and playing a Halo type game would sell bucketloads

I'd rather MS focus on one console and make it the best it can be than split their focus on two different platforms.

Also I would much rather be gaming in HD on a large TV than straining my eyes on a 3" screen. Having seen GRID on DS and 360 it really brings home how vast the difference in graphics is

Not a good idea the DS and PSP have been out since 2005 thats 3 years MS would never catch up in sales so it's a bad time to even think of entering the handheld market and personally i don't like handhelds i rarely used my DS when i owned it so even if we do see a xbox portable i will not be buying.

Microsoft hasn't come out with one yet because Apple hasn't come out with one. Since MS lacks originality and innovation they, therefore, have nothing to copy from.

Nah. I like handhelds... the psp and ds are cool but I rarely play the ones I have. I don't see a point in them experiementing with a handheld as it might fail. They should really stick with Xbox and PC. The things they are good with.

I would love to see a handheld from Microsoft. I don't think it is the right time to enter the battle just yet though. They should wait years untill Nintendo and Sony announce their next handhelds, and then enter the competition then. You can't enter the competition in the middle of the battle, it screws up harddrive capabilities. Once second they are far more powerful than their competition, and then a few years later they are behind when the new competition is released.

The problem with PSP and DS today isn't the handheld, it's the games. The developers are designing games based on console games, and trying to make them work on a handheld, which leads to floppy controls and bad camera angles. But if MS gets a REALLY nice HD screen on that bad boy. Two Analog sticks. Then it can easily handle games based on console games. If they keep the controls on the portable the same as the console's control layout. It should work out just fine.

Not to mention it could use cool features like Xbox Live, with headsets and friends list transfers, online play. Maybe have some Zune/PC connection capatibilities. It could be the real xbox experience on the go. I would love to stay connected with my friends after i got off my xbox360.

with solid state memory geting cheaper and bigger, I say come out with a handheld with two analog sticks and cartridge games. keep the moving parts out of the handheld, It would hold up better and not break easly plus better battery life too. If they do this I think they could 1up everyone in handhelds bis right now.

More choice does not always mean better.

MS have a certain amount of money they are prepared to spend on their gaming side. You can keep it all focused on one thing (the 360) and produce a lot of high quality games. Or you could split it into lots of smaller projects, for instance one could be a handheld. While you get more choice, less is spent on each game, and the usual result is poorer quality.

I'd rather have a smaller selection of higher quality games, than a wide selection of average ones

I actually think the DS fps controlls work very well. I would rather have them over the analogue sticks - its more "mouse"-like

I had a dream about something like this. In it I saw a screen about 5 x 12 inches. It had a slot on the back for disks and had a small yet efficient 80GB memory attatched to the back. It was a portable XBOX360, otherwise known as the XBOX360p. Someone somewhere is developing this, I just know it. Whether it be Microsoft or a geek in his garage, it will exist somewhere. lol

No. Nintendo will just destroy them. Im saying this from a fair point of view. Nintendo has been dominating the handheld market for ages. Many have tried and none have ever even put a dent in their handheld fortress. PSP isnt even doing half as well as any of the gameboys. Nintendo is focused more of gaming while sony is putting in all this media junk in their handheld. All they need is a text messenging/phone call system and the PSP could compete with Iphone. To be honest, I think microsoft would do the exact same thing.

As an owner of a DS and a PSP I would say no, I never even use either of them, the other lame fact about the PSP is that if you buy Madden for 360, PS3 whatever, why would you want a second copy for you PSP and that is the case with a number of games, DS does have a lot of stuff made for the DS only but again I never use it.

A way that they could maybe make their way in however would be a system that allowed you for a small charge to download games such as madden to your handheld if you already owned them for 360, but I am sure the devs would not like this and copy right issues would also be huge
