I've heard that there have been lots of heating problems with the 360, so should I get a fan for my 360? Is it worth buying? My 360 is fairly new and I got it a few weeks ago. I've noticed that it's very loud when it plays 360 games, so I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

All the consols are pretty loud. If you think the fan would help and it doesn't cost that much I would get it as a preventive measure. But then you never know, I had my 360 since launch and I had it in a well ventilated area with lots of space and just a few days ago it 3 red lighted =(. Now im forced to pay MS $168 (Canadian) to get it fixed, which is the biggest rip off ive ever heard seeing as it is their fault it broke. Anyways it will probably help somewhat so if its not that much money, I would get one.

I bought a normal fan, I have it pointing at the 360's side... don't buy anything that uses the 360's power though

DO NOT GET THE INTERCOOLER!!! I got one for free, and after about the first month, it did way more harm than good, and nearly killed my system multiple times. Plus, most, from what I see, tend to die in the first month, and not to mention the number of them that fuse themselves to your console. I would recommend just a regular house fan or something.

Wow, you guys are pretty split on this. I was thinking about getting the intercooler as well. How does it void your warranty if all it does is attach to the back of your console?

ya theres one thats called the intec xbox 360 cooling station. It plugs into an outlet instead of using the 360s power.
